At this tournament there were about 10 participants. It was a single
elimination tourney with a box of Neo: Genesis Boosters as the prize if you
won. There were 4 rounds (Meaning you would play 4 different people. That's
how they run the league here.) Lets get on with the deck, shall we?

Pokemon (18) :
4 Cyndaquil (2 Lv. 21, 2 Lv 14)
3 Quilava (1 Lv. 28, 2 Lv. 35)
2 Typhlosion Lv. 57
4 Girafarig
3 Natu
2 Xatu

Trainers (26) :
4 Bill
3 Berry
2 Bill's Teleporters
2 Moo-Moo milk
4 Narrow Gym
3 Rockets Mine Field Gym
3 SER
2 NRG Retrievals

Energies (19) :

8 Psychic
11 Fire
My strategy is to get Typhlosions out as soon as possible. I try and slow my
opponent down with Narrow gym and SER so they can't beat up my weaker
pokemon.  On with the rounds.

Round One: Psi Fi vs. Bradley with a Electic/Water
This was a tough match because 1. He is my friend and 2. He was running a
Blastoise line. This was also a long match. My starting hand contained a
Natu, Lv. 14 Cyndaquil, 2 Fire NRG, and 3 Psi NRG. He had a Squirtle active.
I put Natu as my active, with Cyndaquil on the bench. I call evens for the
dice roll. It was Odds. Bradley plays first. He attached a water NRG and
attacks me with bubble, with no paralysis. My turn. I draw my card. It is a
Fire NRG. I attach a Psi energy to Natu, and attack with peck. We both have
10 damage on us. His turn. He draws his card. I can tell by the grin on his
face that it is something powerful. It is a Base Set Zapdos. He played that
on his bench, attached a water NRG to Squirtle and used bubble. It didn't
paralyze me. My turn. I draw a Bill and use it. I draw a Psi NRG and a Xatu.
I attach the Psi NRG to Natu and evolve him into Xatu. Then I used Prophecy
and looked at his deck. The top 3 cards were: Lightning NRG, Blastoise, and
Wartortle. I switched Blastoise to the 3rd slot, Wartortle 2nd and Lightning
NRG 1st. His turn. He places a NRG on Zapdos. Then he puts another Squirtle
on the bench. He attacks with Bubble, with paralysis. My Xatu now has 40
damage. I attach a Fire NRG to Cyndaquil. I let my Xatu faint. He has 3
prizes left. I have 4. (They were 4 prize matches) I send out my Cyndaquil. I
then evolve him into Quilava Lv. 28. I then attach an NRG and attack with
ember. I discarded my NRG card and put 20 damage on him. His turn. He draws
Wartortle and evolves Squirtle. Then he adds an NRG and attacks me with bite.
NOOOOO! Quilava fainted. I have no pokemon on my bench. Victory goes to him.
Lesson Learned: Don't strand pokemon (Quilava) with a weakness (Wartortle)
out with out any bench.
0-1

Round 2 Psi Fi vs. ??? with an Ash deck
I call this deck an Ash deck because he had basically 1 of every pokemon and
because he had all the pokemon Ash has. Anyway this was a very easy match.
Right away I got 2 Girafarig, 1 Psi NRG, 2 Fire NRG, and 2 Cyndaquil (1 Lv
14, the other Lv. 21). I put Cyndaquil Lv. 21 out and put everyone else on my
bench. I get to roll the dice this time. He calls evens. It was Odds. I play
first. I draw a Moo-Moo milk on my turn. I then attached a Fire NRG to my
active Cyndaquil. I then attack with Fire Works. Pikachu (His Active pokemon)
now has 20 damage. I roll the dice. Its Evens (Heads). His turn. He attaches
Lightning NRG to Pikachu. Then he attacks me with Gnaw. My turn. I attach a
Psi NRG to Girafarig and attack Pikachu with Fire Works. I roll the dice. Its
Odds :( I discard my only fire NRG that was attached to Cyndaquil. His
Pikachu fainted. I pulled my prize card. Typhlosion! I place Girafarig active
an attached an NRG  to Cydaquil. I pass. His turn. He now has a CATERPIE as
his active. It has no NRG so I can tell he is running a more then 3 color
deck. He can't attack, so he passes. I draw a Psi NRG and place it on
Girafarig. I then use PsyBeam. Its Odds. His turn. He still cannot find any
NRG for his Caterpie. He then plays Poke Flute (Why he has that card is
beyond me) and puts my Cyndaquil back on my bench. My turn. I play a Fire NRG
on Cyndaquil and use Girafarig's PsyBeam. It again is Odds. Caterpie has
fainted. I pull another prize. Berry. His turn. He sends out a Pigey. He
STILL has no NRG. I retreat Girafarig for my Cyndaquil Lv. 14. I then use
Swift, for 20 damage. He can't win now. But wait! He just pulled a DCE! He
attacks me for 10 damage, and Whirlwind brings out Girafarig. I retreat again
and send out Cyndaquil Lv. 14. I swift him for the KO. I now have 1 prize
left.  He sends out his final Caterpie. I Swift him, but it does 20 because
it isn't affected by weakness. He pulls a Grass NRG off the deck. Then he put
it on Caterpie and used String Shot. The roll was.......... ODDS! I Swifted
him for the win.
Lesson Learned: If you run a 3+ color deck, make sure you put in cards like
Bill and Oak to get those cards.
1-1

Round 3  Psi Fi vs. my brother with a Psychic/Water combo.
My brother and I built decks last night, and he saw mine was a Psychic/Fire,
so he built a Psychic/Water deck. I thought this would be tough. I call
Evens. It is Evens. In my hand I have 2 Natu, 1 Xatu, 1 Cyndaquil Lv. 21, and
3 Psi NRG. I play Natu and put the other one on the bench. I also put
Cyndaquil on the bench. I attach my NRG to Natu and use Peck. His turn. His
Totodile Lv. 20 has 10 damage on him. He puts a water NRG on Totodile and
uses Fury Swipes for 20. My Turn. I attach another NRG to Natu and evolve him
into Xatu. I attack him with Prophecy. I look at his top 3 cards: Breeder,
Feraligatr, Water NRG. I put the Water NRG on top, put Breeder 2nd, and put
Feraligatr last. His turn. He draws the Water NRG and attached it to
Totodile. He then used Fury Swipes. It did 20 damage. Xatu has 40 damage on
him. I place a Psi NRG on Xatu and use Confuse Ray. It didn't confuse me. He
drew the Breeder. Then he attacked me for 30 damage. I Used Confuse Ray for
the KO. I draw a prize card. Bill. He then sends out a Natu and plays a Psi
NRG and Pecks for the KO. I place a Cyndaquil in the arena. I attach a Fire
NRG and use Fire Works. He has 20 damage on him. The roll is.....Evens. No
NRG discard. He then evolves into Xatu and he attaches a Psi NRG and attacks
me with Prophecy. My turn. I play a fire NRG and draw a Quilava Lv. 28. I
play Quilava and use Ember. I have 1 NRG on Quilava. He attaches a Psi NRG
and attacks me with Confuse Ray. I am confused. I attach a Psi NRG to Quilava
and use Ember. I rolled the Dice. EVENS! I attack him with Ember for the KO.
I have 2 prizes, he has 3. He sends out his last pokemon, a Mewtwo. He
attaches a Psi NRG and passes. I attach a Fire NRG to Quilava and used Ember.
The roll was Evens, so it did 30 damage. He attached a Psi NRG to Mewtwo and
used Psychic. It did 20 damage. I now have 10 HP left. I draw my card. Please
be an NRG. It is! I attach it to Quilava and Ember for the win.
Lesson Learned: Don't build decks around other people.
2-1
(I asked my brother afterwards what his record was. It was 3-1. I was
impressed.)

Round 4 Psi Fi vs. Newbie with a Rainbow Deck
This was so easy. It went so fast I can hardly remember what happened. All I
know is that he never got any NRG he needed and I ripped his pokemon apart
with Typhlosion.
Lesson Learned: Never build a rainbow deck if you have no card drawing cards.
3-1

Semifinals  Psi Fi vs. ??? Fire Deck
This was another easy match. He had the Charmander line going on. That's when
I realized he had 6 Charmanders. I told the league supervisor and he made the
kid take out 2 Charmander. He was so mad he flung his Charizard out onto the
street. Idiot kid. When he realized that he had flung a Charizard and not a
Poke Flute (How could you get those cards mixed up?) he went over to the
league supervisor and said that I flung it into the street. Then the kid's
Mom came over and started yelling at me. Lucky for me I had some witnesses
that saw him fling the Charizard. His Mom got really mad when the supervisor
disqualified her son. He gave me an automatic win.
Lesson Learned: Don't fling cards out into the street.
4-1

Finals Psi Fi vs. Bradley with his  Electric/Water Deck
He was 5-0 with the league, and 7-0 with side battles. I got a Natu,
Typhlosion, 4 Fire NRG, and 1 Cyndaquil Lv. 21. He went first. He attacked me
with Squirtle's Bubble. It didn't paralyze Natu. I played a Psi NRG that I
had just drawn to Natu. I then attacked him with Peck. He has 10 damage on
him. Then he attached an NRG to Squirtle and bubbled. No paralysis. I
attached a Fire NRG to Cyndaquil. Then I attacked with Peck. Bradley attached
yet another Water NRG to Squirtle and evolved into Wartortle. He used Bite
for the first KO. Then I was forced to use Cyndaquil. I attacked with Fire
Works. He used Bite for the win.
Lesson Learned: Put Computer Searches in a deck like this so you can get all
the cards you need.
4-2
