SNEASEL'S PLAY TIME (DARK/PSYCHIC)
by Daniel Gracie
STS QT
Mesa, Arizona
Saturday, May 19th, 2001

Well, to start off this is my first sts qt experience and had fun at
the Mesa Centennial Hall.
I came down from Yuma, Arizona with my Team to try to win a trip for the sts
at Jersey. I was
excited and kinda nervous at the same time. My friend Hugo and me tried to
win the trip to Jersey
in the 11-14 event. Well, enough talk here's my deck.

Pokemon: 16

4 sneasel
4 cleffa
4 slowpoke
4 slowking

Trainers: 32

4 bill
4 focus ban
4 elm
4 lass
3 challenge
3 gold berry
3 gust of wind
3 scoop up
2 sprout tower
2 item finder

Energy: 14

6 psychic
4 Rainbow
4 Dark

Here is the matches in which I played...

Match 1: Erika's Dratini/Chansey/Scyther Deck

The main thing was his Erika's Dratini, so what I did was I gust of wind for
them and I did some damage, so then he retreated them and I item finder for
gust to finish them off.

1-0

Match 2: Unknown kid

I don't remember because I was excited for my fist match, but I do remember
taking 6 easy prizes.

2-0

Match 3: Zappy/sneasel deck

I got 3 Slowkings out on turn 2 and with him not being able to play any
trainers, my sneasels were unstoppable. He manages to buy some time with
Chansey but by then I had 3 sneasel worked up and it was down hill for him
from then on.

3-0

Match 4: Robert Reyes

I hated this match cause it was against one of my teammates. Robert was also
undefeated and one of us was going to have a loss. He was playing a neoized
haymaker. Our match went back and forth but I got my sneasel out before he
did and I got my final prize.

4-0

Match 5: sneasel/slowking

I started with a bad hand and thought that he was going to give me my first
defeat. He took 2 quick prizes and then everything changed. I got a sneasel
powered up with a focus band and started making a come back. he would
knockout my sneasel and focus band would work. I would play a gold berry and
then focus band again. With my sneasel on the attack I managed to get three
prizes and just when I was about to take my fourth time was called. This was
what would cost me the trip to the STS.

5-0

After my fifth match I went over to the 15+ tourney to see how my brother and
other teammates were doing. My brother was Undefeated as well as me, and Jose
had only 1 lose. I felt like our team was going to do verywell. Jose then
pointed out that the kid I had just beaten was crying to the judge about me
stalling. I went over and the judge, and he said I would receive 2 points
instead of 3 for winning by time. I didn't really care until the end.

Match 6: Wiggly/sneasel

This girl was the one who ended up winning the trip. Her deck was super fast.
I started with 3 slowpoke and I was down hill from there. 8 turns is all it
took for her to win.

5-1

Since I had 1 lose I was sure that I would make it to the finals. Then the
top 2 were announced. I couldn't believe that my name wasn't called. I ran to
the judge and asked what happened and he told me I missed tying for second by
one point. I was crushed. One point , I could have beaten that kid, what an
unsportpman. Well anyways that my killer deck and how I did.

Props:
to my team and doing so well over all.
All the tourneys we attended that weekend
The girl who beat me. Her deck was killer
Noel for winning the tourney back home
To myself for finishing 3rd

Slops:
The kid who cried
Rigo for losing his wallet
Josue for talking smack and losing against my teammate Noel
To the QT for no prizes for the runner-ups
