Subject: Duck of Death

Name: Sean
from: Niantic, CT
where: Toys "R" us Pokemon league
When: June 16, 2001
Deck: Duck of Death

The tournament that I competed in didn't have that incredible prizes for second place, but first place had a very nice prizes. Here is my deck:
POKEMON (20)
2 Unknown E
1 Unknown D
1 Unknown N
3 Natu (Neo 2)
2 Xatu (Neo 2)
3 Psyduck (Rocket)
2 Dark Golduck
2 MP Mewtwo
2 Erica's Jigglypuff
2 Mr. Mime

TRAINERS: (17)
3 Professor Oak
2 Ruin Wall
3 NGR
4 ER
2 SER
3 Energy Ark

ENERGY:
22 Psychic
1 Recycle Energy

My first battle was against a person with an out of the box Blaine deck.
He kept on trying to powerup his Growlithe, but I wouldn't let him. Mewtwo kept hitting him until I knocked out his last Pokemon and drew my sixth prize.
My second battle was against another novice. He was using a deck with 1 Cyndaquil and 1 Quilava, a Tyrogue, and a 4-2-1 chain of Caterpie/Metapod/
Butterfree (all Neo 2). Not much to say here except Xatu killed most of his Pokemon with one hit and when he finally went down Dark Golduck drew my last two prizes for me.
Semi finals - This was a kid who I play once a week at the Pokemon league. He isn' t that tough, but his grass deck is very annoying. I can't remember that much of the game except I kept on ERing his Heracross and Sunkern until Xatu and Dark Golduck cleaned up. I think that my Erica's Jiggly killed two Chikorita, but I'm not sure.
Finals: This was a good match. My opponent was using a Typhlosion deck with Dark Rapidash that I helped him modify for the tournament. He started out with 2 Cyndaquil benched and Ponyta active. I had a Mr. Mime and a Psyduck on the bench. Natu was active. I went first. I confuse rayed his Ponyta and got heads. He attached an energy to one of his Cyndaquils and passed. I attached another energy to Natu and confuse rayed him again. He attached a DCE to Ponyta and knocked himself out because of the confusion when he tried to attack. He sent out the energyless Cyndaquil. He attached his second energy to Cyndaquil and breedered into Typhlosion (Level 55) He attached an energy to Cyndaquil and fireworksed my Natu. I evolved into Xatu, played Oak, and attached an energy to Xatu. I knocked out his Cyndaquil in one hit. He sent out Typhlosion, got heads on fire recharge, attached an energy, and killed my Xatu. I sent out Mr. Mime, attached an energy, and passed. My opponent used flameburst again and got heads again. He thought Mime was dead until he remembered the Pokemon Power. I attached an energy, played 3 ER's, and meditated. He didn't get any basics for his next turn, so I finished off Typhlosion and won.
NOTE: I didn't have an opponent from the 1/4 finals, so I automatically won.
For prizes the kid with the Typhlosion deck and I were each allowed to choose 4 league promos, and I received an edition 1 Ivy League Pikachu.

Props: Dark Golduck and Xatu for willing me the tounament
the Pokemon League for the Ivy League Pikachu
the kid with the grass deck for making it so far.

Slops: A kid w/ a Sneasel deck, who insulted my deck, and was slaughtered in a match after the battle.
