I went to a tournament at Ritchfield Community Center, Ritchfield
Minnesota. It was on April 30th and was the TR promo tounement with the
prizes including a Box of 1st Rocket boosters. The entry fee was $10 and
there were 40 people there.

The tournament was a 5 rounds of preliminary followed by the top eight
battiling it out in best 2 out of 3.
Round one: Me vs. Ben Ashley
What a bad person to start against. He used to rule the tourneys, but
he hasn't played for a while. I started off with a Mewtwo and a Scyther.
He was stopped for about 15 turns after I removed all his energy. I
didn't really take advantage, because I was in the same predicament. I
was leading about 1-3 when he got an Oak. He pumped two wigglys and took
all my pokemon out, untill the end when he had about 5 cards left and 2
prises to go. I sent out a Mewtwo with a Jiggly and Scyther on my
bench. He gusted and killed my Jiggly, and I sent out Scyther. He did 60
and said go. I retreated, sent out Mewtwo, and said go. He had a
gust,
so I lost.

Round 2: me vs. kid with a theme deck
This was a sad game. I mulliganed 4 times. I started with a Mewtwo
and
a Scyther. He had all kinds of weak basics like Krabby, Jigglypuff,
Ekans and the like. I did not get any energy until the 8th turn.
Then I
sent out my Scyther and started beating them up. I picked a Jiggly and
started pumping him. I Oaked, got a Wiggly, a DCE and 3 pluspowers.
I
sent ou the Wiggly who took 6 prises in a row. I guess losing the first
round wasn't so bad after all :-).

Round 3: Me vs Jason Moon
He was top in the state for a while, so I expected a good game. I
started with a lone Scyther two his Hitmonchan. I attached and used
Swords Dance. (Hence the name) He scooped, oaked, sent out a Electabuzz
and attached a fighting energy and said go. I didn't have any energy, so
I said go. He attached 2 Plus Powers and and electric energy and Oaked.
He got another pluspower, and flipped the coin. If heads, he wins.
It
was...Tails! I was saved. I picked, and got an Oak, lucky me.
I
Scooped Scyther, played a Mewtwo and another Scyther and made Mewtwo
active. He killed it in two turns. I still didn't have any Energy,
so
He did 30 to one of my Scyther. I switched Scythers and said go.
He
did 30 to my other one, and I picked a Comp. Search, but I didn't have
any other cards. He KO'd my first Scyther. I sen out the other one and
picked a Item finder, but still no other cards. He flipped for the
win,
and it was...Tails! I picked again, and Comp Searched for the Oak. I
was saved. I stalled the rest of the game. Later, he lassed for 8
cards. I had another Scyther and used Swords Dance. He had to bill
and
Comp Search for a basic in case I killed his Buzz. I didn't, but I won 3
turns later from decking.

Round 4: Me vs kid with weird Rain Dance/Wiggly deck.
His deck was so weird, I wondered how he went 2-1. I had a Jiggly,
Scyther, Comp Search and Oak. I had fun. I got out a Wiggly turn 2,
but
I only had 3 basics, even after Oaking. I did 40 to his Articuno. He
retreats, brings out a Jigglypuff and attacked with Lullabye. Wiggly
wakes up and does 40. He retreats, brings out a Squirtle and paralizes
with bubble. I don't do anything. He Evolves to Wartortle and does
Withdraw with heads. I SER it and put it to sleep. I kill it in two
turns and finnaly get and Oak. I get 3 more basics and kill a Articuno,
a Wiggly, a Seel, and a Magikarp for the win.

Round 5: Me vs. Guy with Psy Deck.
As luck would have it, I start with a Promo Mewtwo. He has a Gastly and
a TR Drowsee. I attach, Item Finder for nothing and use Energy
Absorption. He uses lick and gets heads. I say end my turn. He
sends
out Drowsee and uses "not so" Long Distance Hypnosis. I
fall asleep and
don't wake up. He evolves Gastly to Haunter and says go. I KO
Drowsee
in one hit.He promotes Haunter and attaches I try a Psyburn and he flips
heads. He attaches and uses Nightmare. I wake up, SER him, and fail
another Psyburn. He says go, and I attach a Pluspower and Psyburn for
the win.

I got into the finals at the 5th seed. I am playing my friend, Haffner
Quarterfinals-Me vs. Haffner with a Turbo Tuff deck
Do not underestimate me when I say turbo tuff. I played him 12 time for
fun, and he got out a Wiggly on turn two, fully pumped 9/12 times! That
is hard to beat. I beat him 3-5 times of those 12 with my patented SER
stall, and I was wondering if I would use it today?
Game 1: He gets out his Wiggly all right, but I SER it right away. I
try to stall considering he Oaked three times, but his Wigglys take 6
prises.
Game 2: This time the tables have turned. I kill his jiggly on turn two
with my own Wiggly. He tries to stop me by Oaking a lot, but I deck
him
with one card left in my deck.
Game 3: He gets out a turn two Wiggly and kills my only basic in one
hit.
I took 5th over all and got only 2 Team Rocket boosters for my time. I
think I will try to make a haymaker next time and try to stop Wiggly with
Buzz.
I got a Foil Dark Dragonite and a Dark Machamp in the Boosters.
