There was about 100 People participating in this tournament. It was a
double-elimination tournament....there was a bracket for both groups
(Losers bracket and the normal one). My Deck is a Water/Colorless
type...I've been told over and over again that my deck had too many
pokemon in it....I was determined to prove them wrong...

Round 1- River Rapids VS. Unknown deck
All I can guess was this kid had Either a water deck or a fighting deck.
For some reason he put Mysterious Fossil as his basic pokemon even though
he didn't have to. Luckilly I beat him with a Magikarp.....how lucky can
you get!!! 1-0
Round 2- River Rapids VS. Smelly Grass
I couldn't figure out why someone would name a deck Smelly Grass until I
saw the deck in action.....TR Glooms, Vileplumes, and MUK!!! I was in
deep trouble. He started with 2 Oddishes. I started with Chansey and had
a Squirtle on my bench (He didn't know in my hand I had a Breeder, a
Blastoise, and WATER Galore) He used sometype of poison attack on me (he
won the coin toss....it was tails [I always pick Heads]) I drew a
card.... it was a Double Colorless so I used it on Chansey and Scrunched.
It worked....he passes his turn after poisoning my Chansey again. My next
card (Thank God) was a Dratini. I evolved to Blastoise...raindanced on
him.....retreated Chansey and Hydro Pumped for the win!!! 2-0
Round 3- River Rapids VS. Another Grass deck
After the match.....I found it was based on a single Muk. He flipped a
coin and it was tails so he went 1st. He had a FULL bench with the
following: Grimer, 3 Oddishes, a Scyther, and he led off with Rattata (I
do not know why) I Started only with a Squirtle and a Magikarp. In my
hand was a Breeder and the rest was water. He then EVOLVED into MUK!!!!!!
Luckilly I remembered and told him you may not evolve on your 1st turn.
So he took the card off but didn't attack (I guess no energy) I drew a
card and it was Blastoise!!! I couldn't evolve but I placed a water
energy and did Bubble....Par. worked. He then drew a card and added an
energy to Rattata and Bit me...LUCKILY for me... he forgot to evolve into
MUK!!! I breeded for my Blastoise...at 1st he smiled and said you
can't....I have my MUK down...or do I....ah.....NOOOOOOO!!!! He realized
he forgot to evolve and then said man....There's no way I can win now. I
used Raindance....Put all on Blast....and Hydro Pumped to a win 3-0
Round 4- River Rapids VS Mind Bender
I had a full bench consisting of 2x Squirtles, 2x Dratini, and 1
Magikarp. I let with another Magikarp and only had an energy card with
me. He had 4x Gastlies, and 1 Hitmonchan Leading it off. I actually WON
the coin toss so I drew a card and it was Dark Dragonair... I
smiled...put a water energy on Squirtle and passed. He Jabbed my Magikarp
on his turn......Then I drew ANOTHER Dragonair (He even shuffled my
deck!!!) I evolved both of my Dratinies...used EVOLUTIONARY LIGHT....Got
a Gyrados and a Wartortle. Evolved Squirtle and Magikarp and passed. He
said quote unquote "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" He added another energy to
Hitmonchan and Jabbed and said HEY!!! Don't foget to put the damage
counter on and I just smiled. I told him I've got resistance and he said
Crap and he Forfeted......after he did....I looked at my next 30 cards
and I said dang.......about 15 Water energies were next....all in a row.
He would have been gone!!! He said he hates me now. Whatever. 4-0
Round 5 River Rapids VS. SolarThunder (Grass Electric)
Yikes......this was a scary combination!!! Luckily all he had was a
Pikachu (Jungle) I had a Magikarp to lead off. Luckily I won again (2 in
a row....wow) (coin toss) I put an energy on Magikarp and Tackled. He put
an Electric energy on Pikachu and passed (it takes 2 ele. to use spark) I
drew my next card and it was GYRADOS!!! To make a short story even
shorter...I evolved....added an energy, passed, he sparked, I placed
energy.....good by Pikachu!!! Pika Pika : ( ha ha 5-0
LONG Break
I was the winner of the Normal Bracket....I was waiting for the loosers
bracket to finish up. It took a little over 3 Hours before it was
finished. I was able to walk around and watch other battles that were
going on. Luckilly one of the guys I watched was the one I had to go
against........I learned his strategy........No Mercy
Round 6 River Rapids VS. No Mercy
FINAL BATTLE (unless I loose...then I get a rematch Double
Elimination...he's lost 1ce)
I started with 3 Magikarps, a Pokemon Trader, and Water Energies. I was
told (after the match) he had 3 Promo Mewtwo's, 2 Hitmonchan's 1 Psychic
Energy. Luckilly I won the Coin Toss (I LOVE the coin) and got to go 1st.
The 1st card I drew was a Kangaskhan. I put down Kangaskhan and I used
Trader and traded the Magikarp I had in my hand for a Gyrados. I put an
energy on Kangaskhan and passed. He put an energy on Hitmonchan and
Jabbed me for 20. I drew another card....it was a Clefairy. I put it on
my bench and put an energy card on it and evolved into Gyrados. I was so
angry when he used a GUST OF WIND and brought Clefairy in....he fainted
it (good news...he didn't add another energy card). I then sent in
Kangaskhan. I drew a card and it was a Dratini. He had ANOTHER Gust of
wind and brought that out and killed....er...ah....I mean Fainted it. I
was down in prizes 4-6 Then I started to come back. I sent out my now
fully charged Gyrados. I used Dragon Rage and fainted him. and I ended up
fainting one of his Mewtwo's. The count was now 4-4. He then went on a
killing streak. I forgot what happened but I remembered I was down 2-4.
At this time....I had a Fully pumped and healed Gyrados as my active and
a Chansey on my bench which had a double colorless on it and 80 damage.
He had a 2 Promo Mewtwo's , a Hitmonchan (on his bench) and an active
Hitmonchan. I killed the Hitmonchan no problem...oh yeah, On that turn I
drew a Scoop Up. The count was now 2-3....I was still down. He sent in
one of the movie promo Mewtwo's....it did a LOT of damage...I think I
only had 20 HP left before I finally killed it. The count was now
2-2.....All tied up.He sent in the Hitmonchan and Special Punched me for
10 (Resistance) I ended up fainting him and was REALLY relieved to still
have 10 HP left.....Then he sent in his last PKMN....Movie Promo Mewtwo.
He used energy absorption and I was really scared.....I drew a card and
it was a Double Colorless. I tried to figure a way to win but I was stuck
thinking. Then it hit me....and I literally mean it....I slapped myself
with my hand (trying to be goofy) and my Scoop up fell out of my
hand....then I saw the way to win. I Scooped up Gyrados.....Sent in
Chansey. Put Magikarp on my bench. Put the Double Colorless on Chansey
and Double Edged....it gave both of us a prize...final count.......0-1
