This past Saturday I played in a Pokémon tournament at Heroes Unlimited.
The past week I had wondered why no one had been playing any very new decks
that were strickly based off of Rocket. So I thought up this deck. It is
called " Salon Roque". It consists of the following cards.

    Pokémon

4x Oddish ( Rocket)
3x Gloom  ( Rocket)
2x Vileplume ( Rocket)
3x Scyther
2x Zapdos ( Base)
3x Chansey
3x Moltres
2x Rhyhorn

    Trainers

3x Pokécenter
3x Scoop Up
3x Computer Search
3x Item Finder
2x Gambler
3x Nightly Garbage Run
3x Profesor Oak
2x Boss's Way
4x Removal
3x Super Removal

    Energy

9x Fire energy

Now I know what your thinking from the first glance, a very choppy deck
that isn't good at all. However, once you learn how the deck works, you can
play it like a pro. the deck works using the Glooms to confuse your opponent
until they waste most of their cards or kill themselves off. You use the
glooms until the end when you evolve to a Villeplume for the stall which you
will hopefully have due to garbage Run. The Rhyhorns are in their just to
take out those hard hitting Electabuzz's and the removals to take care of
Wiggly decks and Scythers.

Round 1 vs. Jon w/Fighting and Psychic deck
I get a somewht decent hand which allows me to get a few oddish's on my
bench and let a chansey take damage while i have a Scyther ready to take the
Chans. I eventually use Boss's Way to get some Glooms and Oak. After a couple
of gusts and many of his Pokemon becoming confused it comes down to the
Moltres stalling
with a Villeplume on the bench. The match was ended when Jon flips three
tails on his attempt to kill a Moltres with a Chansey. He attempts to gamble
but only has 6 cards in his hand and gets them back with a heads. He flips
tails on his last turn and I say "Go" for the game.
1-0

Round 2 vs. Matt w/ Fire and fighting deck
I start witha bad hand but am able to kep alive with centers, Chanseys,
and Scoop Up's. Finally after he draws a prize i get a Gloom built up and
confuse his Ditto which fails to retreat with a Double Colorless. After he
used bill 3 times, I knew I had a good chance for the stall. I finally get
Three Glooms built up but he has many well built up Pokemon. Though his lack
of drwaing prizes and using bills for un-useful reasons eventually got him in
the end and I go on to win by stall using the Villeplume.
2-0

Round 3 vs. Matt G. W/ Psychic/Wiggly deck
I get a terrible hand and am refused my Glooms for many turns which cause
me to have to oak 2 times. However, his deck being mainly psychic I am able
to use Chansey to his full advantage and am able to buy a few turns to get
some Glooms built up. After using Moltres to Wild Fire, I use removals to
ensure that his Wiggly wont get to built up. However, it eventually does and
crumbles to the confusion set upon by Gloom. In the end, I am victorious only
because of the amount of resistance my deck had against his Psychic guys.
Though his energy problems greatly contributed to his demise in not being
able to use his Wiggly. After all removals don't last forever.
3-0

Round 4 vs. Ray w/ Psychic/ Fighting/ and Dodrios
Man, the one person that could beat me playing something that destroys
the point of confusion with his Dodrios. I get a decent hand but am low on
removals and Supers and am forced to Oak it. I get a few good cards( Gloom,
Oddish, Scoop Up) but Rays Gust were too much for my Glooms and eventually
fell to his Hitmos and Mewtwo's. I evntually get a few garbage runs and put a
few cards back in and oak again which doesnt hurt that much due to the
Garbage Runs. though Ray makesme nervou by using Special Punch and Psyburn to
their full advantage. I eventually notice that his deck is down to 5 and use
all the trainers I can. i lay a Villeplume and hope for the best, but after
taking hit after hit with no Glooms on the bench to confuse I eventually have
nothing to do and my Moltres which had finished off many people in the day
fell to his Promo Mewtwo.

However, this loss is not without a purpose, I now know that my deck does
work well and know the things that need to be improved in it. I have also
learned that sometimes thinking to far ahead such as thinking Ray would
Gamble is not always the right thing to do. Ray goes on to win the Tourney,
Good Job!

And now for the fun...
