                                                              About 22 Participants

Finally, I have a chance to write a Killer Deck Report.  My Pokemon League had hosted its first Tournament of the Season, and I was Playing my Rocket-Enhanced Sponge Deck (although Rocket's really old now).  The tournament was double elimination, winner takes all.  My only worry was Dark Vileplume, which is pretty popular here.
 Well, here's the Deck:

Swinger's Sponge

3 Electabuzz
3 Promo Mewtwo
2 Scyther
2 Ditto

4 Bill
4 Professor Oak
3 Super Energy Removal
3 Computer Search
3 Item Finder
3 Scoop Up
3 Gust of Wind
3 Plus Power
3 Nightly Garbage Run
3 Rocket's Sneak Attack

7 Psychic Energy
7 Electric Energy
3 Double Colorless Energy

I don't have much else to say, except that my first round match was against...

Round 1 vs Peter: Dark Vileplume

This is not good.  Peter also had some Water Pokemon, which benefited me more than him (read on).  I started with a 'Buzz while he used an Oddish, with another one on the bench.  I eventually kill it, then use Scoop Up.  My Mewtwo then absorbs the discarded energy.  Then, Peter's Dark Gloom Confuses me.  I thought that Mewtwo was toast, so I pumped up a Ditto and Electabuzz.  I took a big risk, and used a Plus Power on Mewtwo to KO Dark Gloom.  With an Oak, I got all 3 of My GOW's.  A successful retreat, along with my GOW's, match up his Dark Wartortles against 'Buzz, and his Koffing's against Mewtwo.  Then, Ditto mopped up.
1-0

Round 2 vs Travis: Turbo Blastoise

This would be easy if I could just power up an Electabuzz.  Sure enough, my opening hand contained one.  Travis had a Lapras.  I went first, Rocket Sneak Attacked his Bill,  attached an energy, and shocked him, with paralysis.  He attached an energy and said go.  I Thunderpunch him.  Tails.   Oh well.  Then Travis tells me that I didn't attach an energy.  Damn!  He then confuses my 'Buzz, which really sucks.  This time, I attach an energy and flip 2 more heads to KO his Lapras.
2-0

Round 3 vs Roland: Dark Alakazaam
Well, it started out kinda slow with Scyther, and 'Buzz was pretty horrid after I realized that 4 Electric Energies were prizes.  Nevertheless, I am able to power up Scyther.  As for Dark Alakazaam, I did see him.  But so did my Super Energy Removal (hehe).  Guess Wiggly's not the only one, huh?  After Scyther was KO'd, I took Mewtwo to town.  I had only one prize left until a Jigglypuff hit the table.  It pounded Mewtwo to death.  Luckily, an Electabuzz punches Jiggly for my sixth prize.
3-0

Semi-finals vs Vincent with Haymaker
He left.  What a pity.  I still wanted to go 5-0 so my friend Steven challenged me in the semi-finals.
Steven: Potpourri.
Now here's a challenge.  I was having a lot of trouble with a Mr. Mime since I couldn't get a 'Buzz into play.  When I did, I still needed 5 prizes and he only needed 2.  A pair of Super Energy Removals really slowed his game down, and a Mewtwo took out a Hitmonchan and Ditto.  Then, to my horror, another Mime shows up.  I Item Found for my Super Energy Removal and stopped him then and there.  At this point, he only needed one prize and I needed two.  In this match, my Nightly Garbage Run's saved me, and after 30 minutes, he Decked out.
4-0

Finals vs Chris: Cleaner
Of all my matches, this one was just the most fun.  When the winner prevailed, we each had 4 cards left in our Decks.  Now, I did make his Cleaner, and realized that its weakness are the Koffings (now he uses Scyther's).  A([n] Super) Energy Removal will leave it hopeless until it is KO'd.  Well, I killed 4  of them.  I was feeling really good until Arcanine showed up and Cleaned my bench.  Except for 1 Pokemon.  Mewtwo.  Well, here it was; the Sponge versus the Cleaner. Mewtwo had 2 energies, so I used Oak to get a Super Energy Removal, which I used and absorbed.  His Arcanine would die soon, so he Lassed me, talking away my entire hand!  Then I drew... an Oak.  He was ruined.  Out came 2 Scyther's and an Electabuzz.  Two Psyburns took the match.
5-0

Well, I won and got all of the League Promo's (which I already had).  Oh well, it was a lot of fun.

Props and Slops

Props to going undefeated.

Props to the Sponge.  And Scott Gerhardt for creating it :)

No slops... I  don't like them.

Thanks for Reading!!
