Hi.  This is Grant here.  I attended a Pokemon League event on April 1st at
the Toys R Us in Baltimore, Maryland.  There were about 15 people. Only 5
knew how to play though.
I was using my newest deck, Brain-Strain.  Here's the deck list:
Pokemon(17):
Chansey x1
Jigglypuff x3
Lickitung x2
Jynx x3
Abra x4
Kadabra x3
Alakazam x1

Trainers(20):
Gust of Wind x3
Energy Search x2
Switch x2
Item Finder x2
Energy Retrieval x2
Pokèmon Center x2
Mr. Fuji x2
Bill x2
Prof. Oak x1
Comp. Search x1
Pokemon Breeder x1

Energy(23)
23 Psychic Energy.

Round 1:  Brain Strain vs. Pycho-Haymaker (Harrison's Deck)
Opening hand for me: 1 abra, 3 psy energy, 1 bill, 1 kadabra, energy
retrieval.
I put up abra.
I lose the coin flip.  Harrison(?) has 2 promo mewtwo.  He attaches a psy
energy to his active pokemon.
My turn: I draw a computer search.  I bill and get chansey and a psy
energy.  I attach an energy to abra and psyschocked the mewtwo and paralyzed
it.
Harrison puts down a jigglypuff.  Attaches another energy to mewtwo(i'm in
trouble)

My turn:  I draw a breeder. Retreat abra, send out chansey.  Computer search
for my alakazam.  Breeder abra to alakazam.(Evil smirk on my face.)  End of
turn

Harrison attaches an energy to mewtwo and psyburns for 10.

My turn.  I draw Prof. Oak and gust of wind.  I attach an energy to
alakazam(he now has 2 energy on him). End of turn.

Harrison attaches a double colorless to Jigglypuff and puts down 3 drowzee,
filling his bench(Shock!)

My turn: I draw a switch.  Attach my 3rd energy to 'Kazam, Gust of wind up a
drowzee, and confuse ray it for it's horrible death.  I get a psy energy for
my prize.

Harrison: Brings up Jigglypuff, attatches an energy, evolves it.  Puts down a
mysterious fossil, and does the wave for 60.

My turn: Draw a Pokemon center.  Damage swap to chansey and pokemon center.
Confuse ray for no damage to the Wiggly, but I confuse it.

>From this point on, harrison kept doing the wave,i kept healing, and
eventually he ran out of cards.
Record: 1-0

Round 2 vs. some kid with a Ninetales deck
My opening hand: abra, kadabra, 5 psy energy.
I win the coin flip.

I have my abra out vs. this kid's vulpix
attatch an energy and psyshock, no paralysis.

Kids turn: attatches an energy.  Does nothing

My turn:  Draw a chansey.  Put chansey on my bench.  Retreat abra and send up
chansey.  Attatch an energy to abra and evolve to kadabra.

Kids turn: Confuse rays my chansey and confuses it.

My turn:  I draw a switch.  Send out kadabra, attatch an energy and super
psy.  Game.

Record: 2-0

Brain Strain vs.  Fire deck

This game was very short.  I drew a lone jynx and fell prey to a charmander's
ember with 4 plus powers.

Record 2-1

Brain Strain vs. Turbo zapdos.

Once again, I was blown away. This time by a base set zapdos' thunder bolt on
turn three thanks to an electrode.

Final record: 2-2

I'm not sure if this is the set of articles that does this but here we go:
Props and Slops

Props to Pojo for creating the best pokemon site to be found anywhere
Props to Toys R Us for holding the event.
Slops to the kids who asked me if I wanted to play Digimon cards
Slops to the kids who still call marril pikablu
Slops to the kid who has 3 base set charizards and won't trade.

That's all for now.
