Good day Pojoholics! Ceramic Lion here with his first deck report
at the Pokemon League. I name this deck "Haymaker Poser", because it
sort of works like a Haymaker, except that I don't have the optimum
cards to make it a "Close to not so much of a Haymaker Poser" deck.
Anyway, the Pokemon League took place at 10 AM to noon, at the Mira Mesa
Toys R US, on 4/8/00 in the state of California. Well, here is the deck
list:

Haymaker Poser by Ceramic Lion

The Pokemon
1 Ditto
1 Kangaskahn
3 Hitmonchan
1 Hitmonlee
1 Aerodactyl
4 Fossil Magmar

The Energy
12 Fire
13 Fightning

The Trainers
So here I am doing everything I...whoops! Those are the lyrics from the
song Superman by Goldfinger. Here are the REAL trainers.

3 Potions
1 Super Potion
4 Plus Powers
1 Item Finder
3 Gusts of Wind
3 Energy Removals
2 Gamblers
2 Energy Retrievals
2 Switches
1 Mr. Fuge..err Mr. Fuji
1 Energy Search
1 Mysterious Fossil

"By golly Ceramic Lion you have created the ultimate Haymaker POSER!"

Ok, the point of this deck is to use Magmar to stall by using Smokecreen
and using Ditto, Chan, Lee, and Aero to kill them. Plus Power is used to
deliver the final blows. Removals are used to strip those darn Pokes of
energy and buy some time. Of course you know this is strange to be
calling this a Haymaker, and I use Gambler to get more cards and to keep
myself from decking (that has happened once) out. Well, it's the Big
Show!

Round 1 Phi Lien

Phi is my good buddy who lives across from my house, and also a
competitive player. He was using his psychic deck before he comverted to
3 color Haymaker. Here it goes!

Phi starts off with a Gasty from fossil and I start with Chan. Uh oh! I
start to recover by using my Ditto and ER's, but he ER's me back and the
game goes downhill from here. My Hitmonchan and Ditto end up in the D.
Pile. LOSS

Round 2 Kendrick Ton

Now Kendrick is very, VERY good. I still haven't beat him to this day.

We both start out great, but his ER and SER keep me slowed down. We got
to the point where we had 1 prize left. I was just about to win, until
he scooped up his Pokemon! So cloooose! I ended up decking myself, and
another L on my forehead. LOSS

Round 3 Steven D.

Steven is as good as Kendrick, but it's hard to say who is better.
Steven is one of the few people who can beat Kendrick.

Once again, Steve and I start off well. However, My F. Magmars kept him
in a blind screen until Mr. Scyther came out. His Movie Mew2's kept
killing my Chan's. Then, we buckled down to 1 prize each. He had a M.
Mewtwo and I had a F. Magmar. I was close to decking myself, and finally
drew my 2nd to last card: Mr. Fuji! Mr. Fuji helped me topdeck Steven,
and he could've won. I Fujied my Hitmonchan with a Fire Energy and
shuffled back. He was out of ER and SER, so I could smoke for the kill.
PlusPower in hand, M. Mew2 with 20 HP left, and a no damage Hitmo he
could have put in for the win. All of a sudden, the blind screen came
down. WIN

Round 4 Some kid

No background info. available.

This little kid was about 7 or 8, and was hissy about coin flips. I won
anyway, and stared with Chan. He started with Magnemite, and WHAM! KO
for you. WIN

Round 5 Another unknown name

No background info. available.

This guy is pretty good, because we pretty much had a fight I was about
to win that turned into a comeback and another comeback.

I started off with Chan and he started with 3D Pikachu. Jab for 40. He
puts in F. Gastly and beats me up. I get Lee with 2 Energy in a few
turns and Kick Pikachu for a prize. Then, F. Gasty beats up Lee, and he
charges up BS Buzz in 2 turns. I draw a Gust and kill him with my HJ
Kick. F. Gasty finally KO's Lee, and I grab a Ditto. Ditto comes back
with a couple of lucky licks. WIN

Round 6 Phillp Ruiz

Phillip is a decnt player, but he gets whipped by Haymakers. Nice guy
though.

I bust out my Chan and basically his whole bench is empty within a
matter of turns. Ouch. WIN

Round 7 Not me

The opponent I played was pretty funny, and Kendrick made his fire psy
deck with the cards he had. Kinda easy though.

I start off with Chan and he starts off with Licky. He wraps me but no
par. I Jab him for 40 and he puts down a Mime. He sccops up Licky and
puts in Mime. I stripped him of energy for the kill. He tries to bust
out his Kangaskahn, but Kahn died in 2 turns thanks to PlusPower. His
Licky is toast, but he gets that dang Jynx! While he gets his Jynx
ready, I get my F. Magmar and Lee ready. Jynx eventually kills Chan, but
I end up killing Jynx. Then he gets Ninetales and his Lure won't help
much. I end up with a KO in humility! WIN

I got my Holo Mew that week, cause Toys R Us was running late. I got my
Marsh Badge the following week.

PS, What's up with the guy at the WotC chat sessions saying "Weedle" all
the time?

The Ceramic Lion says, This is the Tom Green show. It's not the Green
Tom show. This is my favorite show, because it is my show. It's the Tom
Green Show!
