Bookland Pokemon League Report
Yet another week at Bookland, will yield me another few wins and some
points. This week I played Potpourri again, but more Scott Gerhardt style. I
tried my best to set up the Pokemon so they can take advantage of the
oppontets weakness. The deck ran well today, and I had my lucky buckeye and
Chansey coin. Let's see how it did:
3 Electabuzz
3 Scyther
3 Mr. Mime
1 Kangaskhan
2 Magmar
2 Ditto

3 Bill
3 Prof. Oak
3 Gust of Wind
3 Super Energy Removal
2 Energy Removal
2 PlusPower
2 Scoop Up
2 Item Finder
2 Energy Retrieval
1 Computer Search
1 Lass

6 Electric
6 Psychic
6 Fire
4 DCE

Well there is the best deck to play at the league. It handles, the
Raindancers (Yes, there are a few there now) and the Haymakers. It also
anihalates mirror matchups with Hitmonchan. Scyther is taken care of, and
Electabuzz and Scyther can handle the Fighting weak guys. Well please bare
with my poor memory again this week. Here is the report:
Game 1 Vs Kevin w/Psychic/Fighting/Wiggly Variant
Kevin gave me that little wake up call last weak, and I did say there
were some ghosts to exercise, so I played Kevin first. The game was ok for
me. I started Scyther to Mr. Mime, which ran for Electabuzz first turn. I did
10 to Mr. Mime and paralyzed him. He went, attached Energy and let me go. I
forgot Mime for the moment, gusted Mewtwo and started to kill him off. A few
kills on Mewtwo and that Mr. Mime with Magmar got me off to a 2 prize lead to
his none. My Scyther made short work of a few Hitmonchan, and got me a few
more prizes. A few more kills came my way as we went on. On my 23rd turn or
so, I had one prize left. He killed off a Buzz, with Jynx after a SER a few
turns earlier. I promoted Scyther, prepared Mr. Mime for Meditate, and
Slashed for 30. Kevin gusted Magmar, and Energy Removaled him. He then
promoted Jigglypuff, and put Magmar to sleep. Magmar was asleep for 3 turns
until I woke up, retreated, and gusted Jynx, and Meditated with Mr. Mime for
the win.
1-0
Game 2 Vs Chris w/Raindance
Chris played a pretty good Raindance with 4 Blastoise in it. At the
begining I drew Raindances worst enemy, Electabuzz. He started 1 Squirtle. I
went second, after he used bubble without Paralyzing. I used Thundershock,
and paralyzed him. He went, breeder'd to Blastoise, and Raindanced a few
Energy onto Blastoise. Then he Oak'd and got another Squirtle. I finsished
off Blastoise by just a hair. Ditto was on my Bench with no Energy, and Mr.
Mime was no where to be seen. He breeder'd another Blastoise, played a
Lapras, and killed Electabuzz. I Bill'd and got Scyther and a DCE. I placed a
DCE on Ditto, and failed on Confuse Ray. He used Confuse Ray, and it worked.
Things were'nt looking very good, until I finally managed to get a fully
powered Ditto and another Electabuzz. Ditto, Electabuzz, and Scyther handled
Lapras, Articuno and the one Blastoise that was in play. He never got Gyrados
ready mainly because he had Oak'd so many times with him in hand. A few turns
later I had done 30 to Articuno, with Scyther, and then he used Blizzard, and
got heads. I retreated Scyther for Mr. Mime and used Mr. Mime to kill
Articuno. In the end Lapras was causing me grief on getting my last prize,
but Buzz handled it with a Thunderpunch.
2-0
Game 3 Vs Greg the Gym Leader w/WoodWorth Wigglywave
Greg can't wait to get his hands on Team Rocket, and become the evil Gym
Leader, Giovani. Well I was Ash Ketchum to him, always messing up his plans.
LoL. Well I started with a dream hand, it WAS AWSOME. I started Scyther, had
3 Bill, 1 Gust of Wind, and two DCE. He started Hitmonchan! Magmar was on the
Bench! He went first, DCE retreat and let me go. I played 2 Bill got a
Magmar, and a Buzz plus a little Energy, and attached a Psychic to Scyther,
and Gusted Hitmonchan. He went played a Fire to Magmar. I played DCE and
started to work on Chan. When he finally got Magmar out, I promoted
Electabuzz and did damage to him. Near the middle of the game I had 4 prizes
left. I did some damage to Jigglypuff, Magmars, and Scyther. I gusted Jiggly
and killed it with Scyther, then I went off. Mr. Mime came in, and Meditated
his Magmar for 40 killing it. Then I finshed a Scyther off. With one prize
left and Mr. Mime poisened, I scooped him up, and brought out Buzz, which
eventually killed Magmar for the win.
3-0
Game 4 VS Kid, sorry can't seem to remember your name w/Promo Mewtwo Wiggly
deck. Didn't have enough Energy.
I started, ok with a Ditto to his Mr. Mime. I retreated Ditto for
Kangaskhan and passed.  His Mr. Mime couldn't deal damage due to my
resistance. I got a DCE and a Lighting on Kangaskhan, ready for Comet Punch
to his mostly Psychic Bench. He SER'd Kanga, and I was a sitting duck. I
waited over the course of time by attaching a Psychic to Ditto and worked to
get a good idea in mind. I had a long Energy drought, and we just sat there
for about 19 turns doing nothing. But when I got Scoop Up, a plan came to
mind. I Scooped Kanga, promoted Ditto to his Promo Mewtwo that I gusted
earlier,(All his Energy was either in his discard pile or was in his hand,
note he didn't have many) and Energy Absorbed. That next turn I killed
Mewtwo, and started a little momentum and Speed. Ditto handled Scyther, 2
Wigglytuffs, with the help of SER and started working on his Mr. Mimes with
Electabuzz. Buzz took down 1 put I could'nt kill the other. He Oak'd and
Bill'd leaving his Deck dangerously low. This proved to be fatal as I began
to stall with Magmar. Magmar tried to take down a Scyther, and finally got
one. He finally got damage on Magmar, but I scooped him up. He had 6 prizes
to go and 4 cards in his deck, so he conceded.
4-0

Great games were played today and I had a ball. I got some revenge, and
proved to everyone that I could win against any deck. People also playing
Potpourri failed, due to not knowing HOW to play a 3 color deck. I think I
ran it pretty well, and got a good record of 4 and 0. Now for Slops and Props:
Props
to Ditto for giving more strategy to the deck and handling Wiggly and
Raindance decks with ease.
to Mr. Mime for cleaning up big time against Greg.
to Scyther who cleared the way for Mr. Mime.
to Electabuzz for just straight...kicking butt.
to Magmar for handling those pesky Scythers
to the kid who traded me 2 Wigglytuff (1holo 1non) for Venusaur
Slops
to Books a Million, who havn't given approval to Greg for a tournament >:(.

I again learned a lot today. I have kept my Professors down to 1 a game
and my bill to about 2. I am also happy that I am now going for kills instead
of just trying to stall, that takes to long. Well thats all for now. Send me
suggestions on how to make my deck reports better, or any comments, requests
or complaints about the deck to CorranHorn8386@aol.com. Thanks for reading!
