Hey, I just went to a tournament at Grand Slam, which you have on the map in Ft. Worth. They did get the latest DCI sheets, so they did the tournament differently. We had 14 people show up, 2 from The Guild. We played 1 game matches, and the person with the best record won. There were some good people there, and I think that there was only 1 person that played an Imposter that wasn't an Imposter deck. It was really fun. I was amazed, though. I got tons of decks using plant and water and psychic. Most of the decks either had fighting or electric. I saw no decks with water, and only one deck had plant, just for the Nidoran(M) family. I saw 2 mono-fire decks. Only a few decks had Psychic(including Josh, the other member of The Guild). This is how it basically went. I played the Hiyro-Shoten-Ha deck. I play a psy/fighting deck first match. The kid's name was Mike, I think. It was ok, but Farfetch'd put the smack down. I played some other decks, including a few mono-electric decks. It was cool, because a new cool friend of mine, Ryan, played one, and Electabuzz and Farfetch'd beat him down, not Hitmonchan. He was real good, but he was having a bad day. Nothing seemed to work for him. The tourney was going well, and the guy who ran it, named Chuck I think, was starting to get weird on me. I was constantly beating everyone. After a while, I swear he starting giving me bad looks when I handed him my record card and said, "I won." That, and he sat there for a while when no one was playing a match, wasting completely good time to battle. He did run the tournament well on other aspects, though. I have to applaud for another person there. His name was Asa, and he ran a mono-fire deck. My deck had the crappiest hand in the world. It also stalled, and he took advantage of it. He had 2 powered up Charizard, and he literally handed my ass to me on a silver platter. He got to 1 goal card. I actually gusted defensively. I put in Magmar. I had 3 goal cards left. I finally got my first card draw card half way through the game, a Bill. Hoody Hoo! It should have been his game. I kept throwing Dratini to feed his hungry Charizard. He ate them like snacks and wanted more. Then I saw his deck. I counted my cards and his. I had about 20-21 cards in my library, and he had 6-7. I could oak and bill, and still have more cards. My removal cards finally showed up. I stalled for the game. He decked out. It should have been his game, but I lucked out. My praise to Asa for coming to closest to beating me. That's right. We played 9 games, and I went 9-0. I went undefeated. I even played some of the decks best of three, and I still won. I didn't beleive it, and there were some GREAT DECKS there. Josh went 7-2, and tied for 2nd. The last game was chessy, 'cause farfetch'd took out a magmar in 2 turns, and that was the only pokemon he had. It was fun, and in 2 weeks, I'm going back to defend my title. I thought my prize was weird, the only difference from me and the prize from second place, was 1 WHOLE POKEMON TAPE! WOW! Wait, you can't see the sarcasm. Oh well. I got 4 boosters($6 a piece!) of english basic. I pulled Alakazam and Clefairy. Not a bad pull for $5. This is Chipmunk, from The Guild, signing off. _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Visit http://www.msn.com
