Well, Saturday I played in a local tourney, and was kicking some ass but had to leave early. I had to go to my stupid job. =P I'll give you a synopsis of what went down. Here is my deck, Double K.O. Mk. III. I used this one today. Pokemon: (12) 4x Hitmonchan 4x Electabuzz 2x Machop (1 Japanese) 2x Farfech'd (1 Japanese) Trainers: (26) 4x Bill 3x Oak 4x PlusPower 4x Scoop Up 4x Energy Removal 2x Super Energy Removal 3x Gust of Wind 1x Computer Search 1x Item Finder Energy: (22) 12x Fighting 10x Electric Okay, here you go. This was a best 2 out of 3 single elimination tournament at Colossal Comics and Games in Marietta, GA. There were 22 people there (I remember because I helped the coordinator start it up) Game 1 vs. a Mono-Fire This kid is basically known throughout the store as a cheater, and I let a little slide, since the kid is 11 or so. After he tried to draw 3 cards in one turn though, I was through with the crap and I made him play right. Round 1: I basically rip him apart with 'Buzz and Hitmonchan, and for some reason he completely flips out after I play a SER on his Arcanine, not to mention on anything else. Round 2: Same thing, except he managed to get a charged Ninetales out (I didn't get my ER or Gusts) and he kills 2 guys. I still basically wipe the floor with him though. Game 2 vs. a Modified Haymaker: This guy ran a Haymaker with Raichu and Dragonair. Unfortunately for him, they were a little too slow vs. my Hitmonchan. Round 1: After taking out a Pikachu and Hitmonchan with my Hitmonchan and PlusPowers he is left with 4 (!) Dratini on his bench. I kill them one by one and take the game easily. Round 2: He plays a little smarter this game, but is still plauged by Hitmonchan, Scoop Ups, and having too many Dratini and Pikachu on his bench. He did manage to evolve and charge a Dragonair though, but it fell in 2 turns (go Special Punch!) Game 3 vs. a Mono-Fighting Energy Removal deck This guy ran 4 ER and 4 SER in his mono-fighting, but he couldn't keep me down. Farfech'd gets the MVP this game, as HE COULDN'T TOUCH IT! He did maybe 30 damage total to my Far throughout the ENTIRE FIRST GAME! I kept his @$$ drained down, and he couldn't touch me. Round 1: He starts with a Hitmonchan, I start with a 'Buzz. Great. But next turn I draw Bill, then Bill again. I get a Monchan, and some ER. I scoop my Buzz, send up my Hitmonchan and keep his Hitmonchan drained 'till I pull Farfech'd. I now realize that this kid's playing mono-fighting. He hadn't realized Far's resistance to Fighting, and ignores him until I have 3 energy on him. My Hitmonchan gets scooped, and for the rest of the game, I keep him locked, Pot Smashing every turn for a sweet win. It's really funny to see a Machamp fall to a duck with an onion as it's weapon of choice. Round 2: I start with my Japanese Farfech'd. =) He inwardly groans, (and looks really pissed) and he feels the wrath of Leek Slap turn 1, which knocks his Hitmonchan down 30. 2 turns later, I pot smash w/ PlusPower to kill it, and he's left with lots of Dugtrio on his bench. I comp search for my second Farfech'd, and play it. I start to charge it, and the kid loses 3 Dugtrio and another Hitmonchan before he SER's and ER's my active Farfech'd. My turn, evil grin, scoop up, out goes Farfech'd number 2. He has a Hitmonchan out, I have my Far out and a fully-charged Chan on the bench. Pot Smash, his turn. SER. My turn, retreat (Far still had 1 energy left on him), out goes Hitmonchan, and Special Punch for the win! As a side note, every single one of my Hitmonchan were benched this game! All four! It was a beautiful thing. Unfortunately, after this game I had to leave. I made it to the Final Five and got the Bye (bad planning on the coordinator's part), and probably would have made it ot the Finals had I not had to leave. I knew I could have beaten 3 of the other 4 decks there (one was a friend's who I had beaten repeatedly the night before, and I watched the other game - another Haymaker with Electrodes and Raichu (easy) and a mono-fire (I think). My biggest threat was a kid named Robert (an awesome deck-maker) running a Haymaker nearly identical to mine, except he used Magnemites instead of Farfech'd. We both agreed that it'd be pretty retarded of we played eachother. I found out later that he won the tourney. Oh well. Maybe next week I won't have to work... :) -David W. _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Visit http://www.msn.com
