Hey Pojo. My friend Adam Lawson and I went to our local card gaming shop friday night, and made and playtested decks. I kept my original Farmonchamp deck, with a few adjustments, and he made a Grass/Psychic deck that really kicked butt. Anyways, we drove to Maryville, this little town near Knoxville, and played in a constructed deck tournament.

   Farmonchamp

   18 Fighting Energy
   4 Double Colorless Energy

   4 Hitmonchan
   4 Farfetch'd
   4 Machop - 3 Machoke - 2 Machamp

   4 Bill - 2 Professor Oak
4 Energy Removal - 2 Super Energy Removal
   3 Potion - 1 Super Potion
   3 Pluspower
   1 Pokemon Trader
   1 Computer Search

This tournament had 32 participants, and was best two out of three. If you lose, your out. So we all paired off and got started.

ROUND ONE: I was playing against this guy named Kevin, I forget his last name. He was a senior in high school, and was playing a Zap type of deck. He had 2 Mewtwos and no Alakazams I think.
GAME ONE: Not too hard. He only got electric stuff out, and my fighting guys made quick work of them.
GAME TWO: He gave me some trouble with Kadabra, but after he killed a Machop I had a Machoke come in and use Karate Chop to finish it. Game was over when I top-decked a Machamp. Hehe.

ROUND TWO: I was playing William Slover- I think that was his name. He was playing some kind of a 3 fire/fighting deck with like four lightning energy, an electrode, and like 3 water energy and a seel and a dewgong. It was a weird deck.
GAME ONE: I beat up his pokemon, because he had none of the right energy. He'll learn from his mistakes.
GAME TWO: Same story. I feel sorry for this guy, because his deck really wasn't that good. How did he get to this round, anyways?

ROUND THREE: I'm in the final eight pretty easily, being in the bracket those losers were. Adam is still in the tournament too, and if we both win, we play eachother in the final four. Hmmm...  I play this guy named Parker, and I never caught his last name. He was playing a good Straight fire deck.
GAME ONE:Back and forth for about 20 turns, I think. He finally had to draw from no pile, and I won with two cards left to draw. Lucky me.
GAME TWO: He gets two Magmars and a Charmander. He preps up the Charmander, and then evolves into a Charmeleon then a Charizard. His Magmars lived a while, and then Charizard came out. I eventually got the big guy, because his energies were running short. I give this guy credit though, he could have beaten me.

ROUND FOUR: Yea, me and Adam are going to play eachother. That sucks, because Psychic does great against all of my guys. Adam thinks he's going to win easy.

GAME ONE: My Farfetch'd guys beat the living crap out of those weak basics that Pyschic and Grass have. Venusaur didn't have enough energy to move around, so I eventually won.
GAME TWO: He gets two Chanseys, an Abra, a Kadabra, a Bulbasaur, and an Ivysaur and a professor oak FIRST DRAW. If thats not a god hand, I don't know what is. Anyways, he then got Venusaur and Alakazam on the bench, and some good trainers and energy. My first loss of the tournament, we gotta go to game three.
GAME THREE: Adam gets one Abra, and I destroy it with one first turn Leek Slap. He gets pretty pissed off, and I'm laughing all the while. Tough luck Adam!

ROUND FIVE: WAHOO! I'm in the finals! I didn't know this deck was really this good. Just as I suspected, I'm playing this guy with a raindance deck. I'm pretty sure his name was Jason Ortisk, or some weird last name that started with an "O".
GAME ONE: Raindance is not good without its evolved forms. Easy smackdown by me, I totally destroy all his unevolved losers.
GAME TWO: Well, he gets Garydos. That sucks, it really does. Anyways, I draw a Farfetch'd after he kills my Machop. I super energy removal and energy removal in the next two turns, and he seems to have no energies in his hand. Farfetch'd comes in and beats up Garydos and all his other guys. He got energy screwed in the middle of his deck, I guess. I LOVE ENERGY REMOVAL!!!

I won the tournament! Thanks for all the advice with Farfetch'd, Tyler Grund. He really is, if not the best, one of the best pokemon in the game! I got 8 booster packs, and $20 store credit. It wasn't DCI Sanctioned, and that makes me mad. Oh well. I had alot of fun, and hopefully my mom will drive me the 45 minutes to Maryville next Saturday. (No, I'm not a little kid. I'm 14, but I still can't drive... SHOOT!)
