19 Grass Energy

(Thought I'd add a few comments this time, Z) I love playing this deck. It
can be really fun, especially once Venus takes hold and the energy starts to
fly. With Exeggcutor available and Venus' pokemon power, I can mess with any
size opponent, and not risk my energy to an Egg loss. I like using Ditto as
my starter, and hope he and my ERs and SERs hold me while I build the bench.
The downfall seems to be that there are not enough pokemon available, but I
love my trainers and am having a hard time deciding which to lose. Lack of
Energy is an occasional problem, but Venus usually cures that once he's up.
My thoughts here were to incorporate Scyther and some DCE to the deck, but
at what expense? I have lots of Pokemon to trade, so I can obtain just about
anything to add to my deck. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, love!

You've done a very nice job with this, Doll.  Your comments are right on...
Scyther would be a good addition, and with Scyther comes DCE.  (Don't leave
home without it, eh?)
Now, I don't know how fond you are of Ditto, but I feel that Scyther would
be more usable.  Ditto can be nifty at times, but then there are the times
it's KO'd just because someone switched in an Abra... that's no fun.
Scyther is extremely versatile, due to its good attacks, solid HP, and (most
importantly) free retreat. My only hesitation in dropping the Dittos in
favour of 3 Scyther is the problem of Fire... without Ditto, all of your
pokémon are weak to the big red machine.  For now, then, let's leave in the
little wad of ABC gum, and find somethin' else to ax for the Green Mantis.
Hm... you're right, you play with a very small batch of energy.  The energy
retrievals help you there, I'm sure.  I think 4 E Retrieval might be a bit
much, though... perhaps we can drop one, and still do ok with the energy.
What else?  Aah, I see.  You have oodles of energy removal in here!  I like
that, as it totally messes around with your opponent's gameplan.  I think,
though, that you can drop one each of ER and SER, and still be just fine in
that department.  There, that should clear up three spaces... just enough
for 3 Scyther.  Now we just have to find room for the DCE.
I think you might do ok with only 3 Traders, so let's remove one.  Let's
also drop another SER... 2 can still be effective if you use them
judiciously.  Since I'd like to put 3 DCE in here, let's also drop one
Ditto.  Now, obviously, we add 3 DCE -- these serve a twofold purpose: they
quickly power up Scyther, AND they really help out Ditto when it's going up
against big nasties.
Other than that, there's not much that needs to be done.  This is a very
solid deck, with only a couple weaknesses.  One is obviously fire, and the
other is Muk.  This should do well overall, though.  Fire decks aren't
terribly popular at the tourney level, and I'm surprised how little I see of
Muk.  Tinker around, and make sure that the deck works for you -- I'll be
rooting for you!

Good Luck!
