We wanted to know. We asked. And you answered.

As always, we chose only a relatively small number of the responses to actually be printed. Space (not to mention the fact that we recieved over thirty sets of responses) prohibits printing all of them. Please don't be offended if you don't see yourself--we're trying to rotate whose responses we print, and everybody knows that Spike NEVER shows favoritism (as much as he might like to.) Also rest assured that all responses which followed our guidelines (such as answering by letter) were counted in the tallies.

First off, those questions again:

***

1) Spike's Cinder deck gets its name from...

A. A movie
B. A song
C. A story
D. A piece of art
E. A passing remark made by one of Spike's friends six years ago

G. Other

***

2) If you write articles for Pojo, what do you usually write?

A. Killer Deck Reports

***

3) Which would look the coolest?

A. Vulpix as-is

And here we go!

>Well, I haven really e-mailed anyone with a relatively long message in

>Well, I'm going to put on timberowls.mid on while doing this.  BTW, if

>that is.  Sorry, but I havent played it for the past month, too busy with
>tournaments and the like for you all.

>(2) Actually, I haven't written anything in the past while, but I have
>a Single Card strategies list I'm getting ready to post for all of base
>2. That's my big thing I'm doing this summer, other than summer projeccts
>for school and the tournaments.  So, I will answer C.

>(3) I'd REALLY enjoy going through (chuckle) this question step by
>step, only because i want to take a moment to visualize (chuckle) Vulpix
>shaved (wild hollering and laughing) and how a real life Brock would explain
>how this happened to the girlfriend that gave him it (rolling on floor
>laughing).  Oh well, let's check the rest of them, even though they're
>not as hilarious.  Vulpix as is is rather dull and boring if you ask
>me, only because you see the fox so much.  Vulpix with an afro would be
>funny, but I think that that'd only come out well if Team Rocket took
>'em to their salon and got the staircase that was scorched revamped and
>Vulpix could sing with Pikachu and Clefairy as backup singers. (That'd
>be really fun!)  Dreadlocks would look best on Vulpix IMO, but that's
>because it's only a little better than Vulpix, and the other answers

>(4) I happen to LOVE spelling and enunciation, so this'll be my 2nd

>isn't even in the dictionary, so I don't know if that's the

>(keesh): custard.  Strange spelling and enunciation are interesting,

>(5) I don't play magic, a friend taught me how, and I hate tapping, but
>after it all, I know that Wurms are cool.  I happen to enjoy the

SPIKE: Tapping. Hehehe. He said "tapping."

VULPIX: Actually, what I'd like to do is sing "Respect" with Magmar and Kangaskhan as backup singers.

>Well, here I am again. Thats right. The guy you had kanga assault with

>
>#5:G
>Well, for now that is. I am starting to learn now as I get older. I
>figure I will eventually run out of people to play Pokemon with and all us
>hard-core fans will move to magic.

SPIKE: Pokemon will never die. Not while WotC can still squeeze a buck out of it, anyway.

VULPIX: Actually, yes, we did get the idea from your comments about the Afro. By the way, you're dead wrong about Cinder. But then, so were all but two other people, and they were probably just guessing. Don't feel bad.

>Hehehehe.......polls.  Remember me?  I'z guy w/ Hot-Pantz vulpix.

>I eat them.  Now THEY mookie stinkz!!!  One card called Black......Daisy?
>No.  Dandelion?  No.  Maybe Sunflower?  No...I fergot.  It meanie, but
>tasty.

SPIKE: I can go down the street and get a "Black Daisy" for $350. If I'm willing to settle for white borders. If I had that much cash, I'd spend it on a few boxes. Who needs three mana of any color anyway?

VULPIX: Muffins! I always thought Muffins would make a good name for a cat, not a cow. Oh well.

>1) F, I think, I don't know! I'm so confused!  No, no stop asking me
>these questions! MAKE THEM STOP!!!!  NO, NO, GO AWAY, STOP TELLING ME TO DO

>4) D, I don't know why, I just burst out laughing when I read it.  Must
>be a Tuesday, Tuesdays are bad for me.
>
>5) E, and I have no idea what that is, it just sounds cool and I'm too
>lazy to look it up.

SPIKE: Your inane answer to #2 almost got you nailed, but I was too busy laughing my ass off at the rest of your letter. And you're not the only person who blindly voted for Lightning Dragon because it sounded cool.

VULPIX: Flaming?

>Hola Spike! Hola Vulpix! I guess you had a good reason to cut my response to your last poll. I did sorta start to go crazy after your >first question. Sorry about that, I promise it will never happen again....I hope.

>WOOOOO!!!! That would make my day! Then he could come out with a Regge album "Vulpix Sings Bob Marley's Greatest Hits!". >That would be amazing!!

>
>I have heard many good things about this card. Am I the only person that still plays Ice Age cards? Freak of Nature is one of my >favorite cards of all time. Just because how underrated it is. That card should be in EVERYONE'S deck.

SPIKE: Erm, I believe Vampire Hounds was from Exodus... And yes, some of us still use Ice Age cards. Such as... um... Well, I have an IA Dark Ritual that I use... does that count?? =)

VULPIX: "Vulpix sings Bob Marley's Greatest Hits?" Hot damn... you might actually have something there...

>Hey Spike,
>    Again I hope that my answers are actually posted, but I can't hope
>for too much. Anyway:
>    1) F: Nothing, just a reference to fire types. SOme of the other

>could never be able to do A, because I don't have time to go to tournaments

>I would never do, and E is stupid. YOu should have a "F: Other" as a

>    5) G. I don't know, because I don't play Magic. Nothing wrong with
>that, is there? No offense, but Magic is a DEADER THAN DEAD game. I know of
>no one that still plays magic.

SPIKE: Magic? Deader than dead? News to me. And thank you for calling Cinder a great work of art, but flattery will get you nowhere.

VULPIX: A southern slang word used in the wild west? That makes little sense.

>Hi Spike, I thought I's fill your inbox with a couple of ramblings about the latest poll. Anyway...
>
>1. D (a completely random guess)
>2. C (I've only written one and it was actually a rant, but everyone who e-mailed me has agreed with me - which is nice)
>3. C (Dreads, definately. I would like to point out that this answer was given to me by my vulpix, Flame. She's a big fan of yours, >Vulpix and makes me read your column every week to her)
>4. C (because I haven't got a clue what it means)
>5. G (my magic experience is been given the starter set (with video) by a friend, watching half of the video, realising how pathetic >the video was, turning the video off and then using my nice new bookmarks :o)

SPIKE: Few things Wizards have done has incurred my wrath more than their stupid Magic starter sets. None of the people I know, including myself, needed a starter set to understand the game or to get hooked. They're just gimmicky, and gimmicks hurt games like Magic and Pokemon.

VULPIX: Don't feel bad about making a completely random guess on #1.

>    Hey Spike, Vulpix. Thought I'd try and answer this poll thingie to

>defusing the land mines in the closet. (Don't ask.) Here goes...

>technically covers that. Barely.

>know what a defenestrator is. I think it's someone who pushes people out

>ya's.
>           Dr. Crash

SPIKE: No, I don't believe I ever said that to you... If I did, I was lying. =)

VULPIX: Monkey. Monkey. Monkey monkey monkey monkey monkey.

SPIKE: Let's have a look at the results...

***

1)

A. 1
B. 0
C. 2
D. 2
E. 9
F. 17
G. 5

***

SPIKE: I will tell you now. "Cinder," in fact, comes from... a STORY. Yes. Don't ask me to tell you any more. Maybe someday we will be lucky enough to have a song, a piece of art, or even (God forbid) a movie based on this story. But for now...

VULPIX: And that's all we have to say about that.

***

2)

A. 5
B. 7
C. 8
D. 15
E. 2

***

SPIKE: Well, we don't have "deck fixes" on this list, but of the ones on this list, I tend to be most often seen in the Strategies section. Of course, even that is stretching it.

VULPIX: I don't write anything except my column and the occasional fix/bash, but I annoy Spike a lot, so I'll go with that answer.

***

3)

A. 9
B. 7
C. 7
D. 0
E. 10

***

SPIKE: Vulpix with an Afro.

VULPIX: No question about it.

***

4)

A. 1
B. 7
C. 9
D. 3
E. 11
F. 3

***

SPIKE: Ferrets are cool, but the word itself isn't quite as hilarious as some of the others on this list. Like furlong. I'd have to pick that one.

VULPIX: I'll go with moist. Moist. Moist. Moist moist moist.

***

5)

A. 0
B. 0
C. 2
D. 3
E. 7
F. 2
G. 21

SPIKE: Vampire Hounds would scare the Jackal Pup off. Lighning Dragon and Jhovall Queen would annihilate each other. The Wurm and the Mist Dragon would start to fight, but the Mist Dragon would start to lose and would phase out to avoid defeat. Then Vampire Hounds would discard seven creature cards from its hand and whup up on the wurm. Or something like that.

VULPIX: I'm friends with all these creatures, so I'm not going to venture a guess.
