Hey I just wanted to know if you could please help me with my deck. It is
plant and fire and I do petty good with it I haven't been in many
tournaments.  Heres my deck.

4 Vulpix
2 Ninetales
2 Magmar(1 basic 1 fossil)
2 Bulbasaur
2 Ivysaur
1 Venusaur
2 Scyther
2 Grimer
1 Muk

3 Dbl. Colorless
10 Plant Energy
18 Fire Energy

2 Comp. Search
2 Trader
2 Gust of wind
1 Clefairy Doll
1 Energy Retrieval
1 Impostor Oak

Strategy: My strategy is to get out my Scyther and magmar to hold off the
opponent while I pump up Ninetales or Venusaur on my bench.  The SER help a
lot to mess up your opponent.  My Comp.Searches and Traders help me get out
my big hitters faster.

I think I need some help with my trainers. I'm not sure what ones I need the
most so if you can help I'd greatly appreciate it.

Oh and I call my deck Flaming Forest.
Let's see here.  I'll start with the pokémon I guess.  First I would balance
the families.  The vulpix family might work better as arcanine.  More HP,
better first attack, and better basic.  I'd make the vulpix family growlithes
and arcanines and drop a growlithe so it's 3/2.  Add 2 bulbasaur, 1 Ivysaur,
and 1 venusaur, making it 4/3/2.  Muk's gonna need to go; It's power will
counter venusaur's and you need more room anyway.  Drop the grimers and muk,
and It should now be an even 60 again.  But we're not done yet.  take out
five fire energy, since most of these pokémon are grass, and add 1
magmar(fossil), and add 1 grass.  Oh, and make the basic magmar fossil too,
theyre much better.  Now trainers.  Clefairy doll is just junk, get rid of it
and the energy retrieval, 1 won't help you.  Go with either trader or search,
not both, it's unnecessary, and I'd go with the searches.  While trader only
gets you pokémon, search gets you pkmn, trainers, energy, etc.  take out
traders and add four bills and one prof. oak.  you need a lot of card drawing
with the high evolution and heavy energy costs.  for removals to work you
need to go four removals and 2 - 3 supers, and you don't have the room.  If
only it was a 64 card limit...  You'll probly need the removal to slow your
opponent though, because this could be a fairly slow deck.  This is cutting
the trainers kind of small, but take out the gusts and add 4 energy removals.
So let's take a look at it:

3 magmar (fossil)
3 growlithe
2 arcanine
4 bulbasaur
3 ivysaur
2 venusaur
2 scyther

Energy- 27
11 grass
13 fire
3 double colorless

4 bill
2 prof. oak
2 com search
4 energy removal
2 super energy removal

I'd play around with the trainers, but that should make the deck stronger
overall.  Play it a while and see it's strengths and weaknesses.  If
evolution doesn't come together you can always play it as a haymaker.
                                    Good luck, Souper.
