Hey I just wanted to know if you could please help me with my deck. It is
plant and fire and I do petty good with it I haven't been in many
tournaments. Heres my deck.

4 Vulpix
2 Ninetales
2 Magmar(1 basic 1 fossil)
2 Bulbasaur
2 Ivysaur
1 Venusaur
2 Scyther
2 Grimer
1 Muk

3 Dbl. Colorless
10 Plant Energy
18 Fire Plant

2 Comp. Search
2 Trader
2 Gust of wind
2 SER
1 Clefairy Doll
1 Energy Retrieval
1 Impostor Oak

Strategy: My strategy is to get out my Scyther and magmar to hold off the
opponent while I pump up Ninetales or Venusaur on my bench. The SER help a
lot to mess up your opponent. My Comp.Searches and Traders help me get out
my big hitters faster.

I think I need some help with my trainers. I'm not sure what ones I need the
most so if you can help I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

Oh and I call my deck Flamming Forest.

------------------

Ahhh my first fix as a mechanic.

My problem with the deck is placed on the trainers and the lone muk.

For most decks, including this one, bills help to make it more consistent.
Somehow i'll fit in 4 bills.
You may want to bump up the S.e.r.'s to 3, they work nicely with venusaur.
I'm not sure if the energy retrievals are worth it with so many energy. Also
the only pokemon that needs to discard energy are ninetails and the basic
set magmar (which i will replace), so having over 27 energy for them is just
too much. I could understand if all the pokemon discarded energy to have 31
energy but not with this crew of pokemon.

Now to the muk. I love this guy in most decks that need protection from a
pokemon power (mr.mime, blastoise) but not with the likes of venusaur in it,
whose power is very important to this deck.  So most likely i would take muk
out.

The rest of the deck is just a tweaking here or there.

Here what i would take out:

Basic set magmar: I liked this guy before fossil came out; but now with the
Lv.31 magmar out i don't think i'll use this guy again. More offensive but
overall not as good as the fossil ver. I'd put in more scythers instead of
these two.

Grimer/Muk: explained above.

Energy: a whole lot.

Clefairy doll: theres no point.

Imposter oak: same as the doll.

Computer search: I'll keep the traders, and put in the bills and oaks. that
should make enough drawing/searching.

What i would put in:

Bills/Oaks: everyone will soon learn that the majority of the dex i fix and
decks i play have 4 bills and 2 oaks.

Growlithe/Arcanine: Arcanine is just so much better than Ninetails with
Energy trans. I wasn't sure about this move but i've never really liked
Ninetails in the first place.

Pokemon center: It's a little weakened because you can't move off the fire
energies but it's still very good for mass healing. you don't need it in
here, but it seems like it would work well. potion or super potion might do
the same thing so you may not need it.

The rest is just minor number tweaks.

This is the final version i came to. You don't have to use it.

4 Growlith
2 Arcanine
4 Bulbasaur
3 Ivysaur
2 Venusaur
4 Scyther

3 Dbl. Colorless
14 Plant Energy
10 Fire Plant

4 Bill
2 Professor Oak
2 Trader
2 Gust of wind
3 SER
1 Pokemon center (i don't like only using one but it's just too situational.
with more testing you may or may not want to use more).

It's a fairly simple deck to play. Heavy energy removal decks are a problem,
as i think raindance could be. Solely because of scyther you should be able
to fend of most any attacks from fighting pokemon.
Just be carefull of when and where you transfer your energy.

Hope that helps,

Justusdux "Dux"

Final thought: ponyta/rapidash line is alot quicker than the growlith line
so if you're having speed problems you may want to consider them..
