1) What is your name? (need not be your real name,
just whatever you want me to call you) Arzaq
2) What is your e-mail address?
wizard_domain@hotmail.com
3) What is your skill level? (Please choose from the
following:) -Beginner -Novice -Intermediate -Advanced
-Expert Advanced
4) What is the name of your deck? (Please choose
something I can print on the Pojo... and yes, this is
a problem with some people!) Buzz Boyz (came from a
nick for pilots, plus the electric reference)
5) What is your deck all about? If your deck has a
strategy, tell me about it in detail. If your deck is
a theme deck, describe the theme to me. In essence,
tell me what was running through your mind when you
slapped together this pile of cards. Electric is weak
to fighting. Fighting resistance + electric = good.
That was my basis.
6) Which of the following would you prefer? -That the
deck be tuned to win as consistently and as often as
possible -That the theme of the deck (if any) be
adhered to, at the expense of strategy if need be -A
balance between the two, tuning the deck to win but
maintaining theme where possible That the deck be
tuned to win as consistently and as often as possible
7) Is there any card in the deck that you DO NOT want
taken out under ANY circumstances? If you do not
specify this, I'll assume that anything is fair game.
For example, if your favorite Pokemon is Onix, you
need to tell me, because I will quite possibly target
any Onixes as early candidates for removal. *grin*
Fearow line- they win games for me...fairly often.
Pluspower- these also win games for me...very often
8) List the cards in your deck for me, dividing them
into Pokemon, Trainers, and Energy. Divide Pokemon by
color, and list components of evolution chains
together. Give a count of the number of cards in each
category (for example, 18 Pokemon, 22 Trainers, 20
Energy). If the count does not add up to 60, your deck
will find itself in the circular file with astonishing
speed. Pokemon (16)
3 Pikachu (2Movie, one Ivy)
 2 Raichu (1 base, 1 Dark)
3 Spearow
2 Fearow
3 Scyther
3 Buzz
Energy (17)
13 Electric
4 DCE
Trainers(27)
4 Oak
4 Bill
4 ER
4 Pluspower
3 CPU Search
3 Lt. Surge's Treaty
3 GOW
2 Item Finder
9) The following cards are cards I believe should be
present in just about every deck: -Professor Oak
-Computer Search -Item Finder -Gust of Wind -Nightly
Garbage Run If any of the above mentioned cards are
NOT in your deck, explain their absence here, and do a
darned good job. NGR- I am very bad with that card. I
tried using it in v4.2 which lasted 2 weeks. Then I
changed to v4.3 without them. Their only uses for me
were to discard. They just don't work well for me.
10) If any of the card choices in your deck require
special explanation to prevent me from taking one look
at them, screaming, and lapsing into a coma, please
provide such explanation here. Examples of such cards
would be Here Comes Team Rocket!, Pokeflute, and
Tickle Machine (to name a few). "It came in my theme
deck" or "I got it in a booster and it looked cool"
are NOT good explanations. if any, Lt. Surge's Treaty.
After I use a CPU search, if I can't find what I want,
I take a Surge's Treaty. If I am ahead on prizes, or
am tied with my opponent, I use it. Usually they
accept, and I have a 1:#ofprizes chance of getting
what I needed. Also, I use it with one prize left in
hope that my opponent is not paying attention =) It
works well for me.
11) Is there anything else you think I should know?
(If so, what?) I have played since the game came out.
This deck has been tweaked by 2 mechs(Z fixed v1.0,
you fixed v1.1). I have read info listed on pojo, and
made minor tweaks up until v4.3. Then I eliminated the
deck in favor of an Arcanine/Alakazam deck, which did
well for a month, then died from bad luck. I brought
this deck back, with MAJOR tweakage, and it has been a
success. I have not decided which raichu line to
play...but whichever one I have to trade for/purchase
one of the raichu. I am on semi-limited funding. I am
yet to see TR Zapdos's price at the card store that is
nearby...and only have one. Also, I can probably
afford a IF or 2 =). I do not care for lt. surge's
buzz(holo) so please do not add it. Also, I do NOT
want a haymaker on my hands =) I like my originality.
Also, we have like NO tourneys around here except the
occasional one at a card shop, but those are
unsanctioned and poorly run. Thank you for your time,
and I appreciate any help you give me =)

Hmm. I seem to remember the original version of this
deck from way back when. Looks like it's improved just
a little since then, but there's still a smattering of
singles, and the occasional questionable card choice.
Let's see what I can say about this.

1) Hmmm. I'm wondering if the Fearow line might not be
superfluous here. Scyther does pretty much the same
thing. The only real advantage of Fearow is the
Agility, which you can run Base Raichu for anyway.
Another possibility would be to run TR Zapdos instead
of one of them, if you want to and if you can get
enough. but you do not want to run TR Zap as your only
fighting-resistant Poke, because then you, um, lose to
stuff like Brock's Rhyhorn.

I have to admit my inclination here is to go with the
"random evo line, appropriate BBP, Scyther" form that
so many of my decks take, but would that count as a
"haymaker" in your book? I'm not sure, so I'm going to
fix it keeping Fearow in, which means that Scyther
will be dropped. If you're okay with a Rai-Scy-Buzz
sort of deck, then simply swap Fearow for Scyther and
add in a few extra trainers.

So which Raichu to use? Arguments can be made for
both. Base Raichu will probably be easier to obtain,
and seems overall more solid to me, so I'd use it.
Regardless, I think the Movie promo is the best choice
for Pikachu. assuming you can plow through your deck
to find a Raichu, which this deck should have no
trouble doing.

2) Your trainers are pretty much formulaic, but that's
good. There is one (1) thing that makes me cringe, and
that is: no Nightly Garbage Run. I have no idea how
this card could be bad for you. In fact, with only 17
Energy, 4 Oaks and 3 Computer Searches, the very idea
of playing this deck WITHOUT them seems like asking
for either a late-game energy screw or a loss by
decking. I would encourage you to not give up on this
card just yet, but I won't list them in the final
decklist.

If you do decide to put them in (which I think you
eventually will) drop Lt. Surge's Treaty. your reasons
are thoughtful, but just not enough to justify playing
what is basically a bad card. Sharing is bad.

3) Your energy balance seems almost perfect to me.
Nothing we need to change here.

4 Pikachu
3 Raichu
3 Spearow
2 Fearow  -- Fearow line could be 3-4 Scyther, 1-2
random trainer
4 Electabuzz

4 Bill
4 Oak
4 ER
4 PlusPower
3 Computer Search
3 Lt. Surge's Treaty - Should be 3-4 NGR, in my
opinion
3 GOW
2 Item Finder

13 Electric Energy
4 DCE

Think about the NGR, mmkay? And one thing you might
end up wanting is a Gym of one sort or another, which
would be a reason to go with Scyther over Fearow. That
being said, the deck should be very much playable as
given here. Good luck!
