Okay. This is a good demonstration of the sort of decks that I was shoving aside awhile back. It's also a good demonstration of why I was wrong in doing so. While this deck does have a few obvious flaws (2-1 evolutions, 28 energy) it's also trying very hard to be a good deck. In particular, because of some good things (4-3-2 evolution, CPU Search and Energy Removal) I would hypothesize that this person took some hints from my fixes BEFORE sending his deck in. Take notes, people =)

1) Okay. 4-3-2 Nidoking is good, very good. 2-1 Arbok... not so good. I think I'd rather have a so-so 3-2 family than a good 2-1 family, simply because the best Pokemon in the world will be useless if you can't get it out. In this case, keeping in mind that you have limited card availibility and probably don't want to try to scrape up another Dark Arbok right now, I'd go to 3-2 with Fossil Arbok. When and if you do get another Dark Arbok, you can put them in... but our objective right now is to make the entire deck better as a whole while staying within your means. Keep TR Ekans, though... it's probably better.

Now then, some good basics would be nice. Trouble is, both of Grass's good basics are rares. I highly recommend 3 or 4 Scythers for a deck like this. But don't run yourself ragged trying to get them. Pinsir would also do well, and, while still a rare, will probably be easier to get than Scy. On the next step down, you could try tossing in some colorless basics like Jigglypuff as placeholders. More Koffings will work, too...maybe even the Nidoran females, although that's iffy. Bottom line: your deck will be better in the long run if you work on it evenly, rather than expending all your energy on trying to get that one card.

Chansey and Lickitung round out the deck. I recommend eventually dropping one of them and adding another of the other (I'd go with 2 Chanseys, and my listing will reflect that) but 1 of each will be fine for now.

2) You have some very good trainers. But you definitely need at least 3 Bills. It's a common, so don't give me any lip about not being able to get them. The others should be present in great enough numbers already, but I'd bump Pluspower to 3 and put in an Item Finder or two.

3) 28 energy = WAY too much. I'd say you could go down to 20 or even 18 grass energy, plus 4 DCEs (a must if you're going to have Chansey and Scyther in there.)

Well... your final deck is a bit tight, but considerably better tuned than it used to be. One thing that would be real nice is Pokemon Breeder, but I wouldn't worry too much about it as Nidorino is one of your more solid Stage 1's. If you have energy problems--which I don't believe you should--a couple of spaces could be created by dropping a PlusPower back out and removing a Nidoran. I'd use the space for Energy Retrieval instead of just more energy.

Now, I know I changed a lot. Don't be intimidated. I'd probably work here first on cutting down the Energy and getting your trainers up to speed. Then even out your Pokemon a bit and get solid basics in to back you up. Once the deck has been stabilized, you can work on getting the premium cards (Scyther and Chansey.) The DCEs can be acquired in the middle of all this (assuming you don't already have them.) The end result should be a much improved deck.

Good luck!
