Hi. Im Charlie and I started playing pokemon when it came out. Im old school, got a dance deck in a few weeks, rocked, then mime came out, i re did my deck, rocked some more, etc. Well, im 14 and thats a bit over the target age. The problem was that everyone in the school started making fun of me, and thats never good. So, I was forced to stop playing. They still made fun of me , so it really dosent matter, so ive decided to start playing again. I recently heard rocket was out and got worried how my deck would preform, seeing as the scene would have probably changed. (by the way I stopped playing at the beginning of fossil, and, sadly, have every single card memorized.*sigh* ) anyway, I was wondering if you could give me a quick overview of the goings on and popular deck types so i could be prepared, as well as submit a few deck options.( I have lopts of cards and cash, dont hold back. i tend to go for excessive amounts of trainers, tweak as necessary.)
Well, heres my deck(s). my first is a strong energy removal deck.
4 Psyduck
4 Golduck (fossil)
4 Dratini (rocket if i can evolve into a base dragonair, base if not)
4 Dragonair (base)
4 Mewtew (promo, movie)
2 lapras

4 energy removal
4 super energy removal
4 bill
4 oak
12 psycic energy
10 water "
im not very informed in the rocket area, thought i am thinking about dark vaporeons.
if you wouldnt mind, i have another deck id like you to look over. disregard this if it would "disqualify" my email for evaluation. This has been tested and preforms rather well at tourneys. It functions as a derranged haymaker with energy recurrsion.
4 movie promo mewtow
4 movie promo picachu
2 base raichu
1 fossil raichu
4 base electabuzz
2 jynx
4 E. R.
4 S. E. R.
4 bill
4 oak
3 comp search
10 electric
12 psycic
2 D.C. energy
Thanks for any assistance you can offer,
CHARLIE

Overview

I'll just fix the first deck, the only thing I really don't like in the second is the Raichu. As for the first one, I like the Energy removal idea. However, both Dragonair and Golduck is too much; I'd drop one. You could also use some more diversity of trainers. It's fairly well built, but a few changes could be made.

Pok閙on

The first order of business here is to decide which of the Energy-removing Pok閙on to drop. I usually prefer Golduck to Dragonair because of the lower Energy cost, but with Dragonair you don't have to worry as much about Electabuzz, and two Double Colorless can make up for the higher cost. He's also got the resistance and higher HP. If not just because of Golduck's weakness to Electabuzz, let's go with Dragonair. Drop one, though, three should be plenty. Add two more Lapras to finish the Pok閙on.

Trainers

Instead of just sticking to Energy Removal, we can add more disruption with Gust of Wind and RSA (Rocket's Sneak Attack). Add three Gust of Wind, three Com. Search, and three RSA. To make room, drop a Super Energy Removal and a Prof. Oak.

Energy

Add four Double Colorless for Dragonair and retreat purposes, and drop three Psychic and one Water to take it back to 60 cards. Here's the deck:
Pok閙on (15)
4 Dratini (R)
3 Dragonair
4 Movie Mewtwo
4 Lapras

Trainers (23)
3 Gust of Wind
3 RSA
4 Energy Removal
3 Super Energy Removal
4 Bill
3 Prof. Oak
3 Com. Search

Energy (22)
9 psycic energy
9 water
4 Double Colorless
The Dragonair can provide disruption with Hyper Beam, with Mewtwo and Lapras for backup and higher damage. Lapras can also provide disruption with Confuse Ray. An early RSA can shed some light on your opponent's plans and can slow him down by getting rid of an Oak or another important Trainer. Hopefully this'll work well for you. Good luck!
