What are you doing wrong? I can sum it up in one word: Trainers. You have made good Pokemon choices for the most part, but you lack the trainers that you need to go off successfully. Let's try to help you rectify this.

1) I mentioned that you had made good Pokemon choices. I also included the qualifier "for the most part." You can rectify one of your few shortcomings by dropping Aerodactyl; he's just not worth it here. Next, try to obtain another Movie Mewtwo or two. I'd advise you to drop Kadabra, because he's not so useful in the first stages of the game when Fighting Pokemon will cream him and Abra before they can come up to speed. Instead, expand the Haunter line to 4-3. Gengar would be fine, but he's not neccessary..

2) When you dropped Aerodactyl, you dropped Fossil. Now, what you want to do is drop the Potions, Revive, Pokeball, and Mr. Fuji. The last one is useful in his own right, but it's obvious that this deck isn't utilizing him well, so just drop him. Now drop GOW to 2 or 3. In the space you just created, insert 2 Oaks, 3 Bills, and 2 Computer Searches. This is the bare minimum you should be running. Later, we'll go back over and see if we have the space for anything else.

3) You've got 21 energy, and this deck has fairly low energy requirements to start with. Plus, Mewtwo gets psy back from your discard. We could try and sneak one more energy in there, but it should be fine.

Mensch... this was a VERY strange deck for me... a deck where I actually had to try and find 60 cards, rather than having to cut stuff. Let me explain the reasoning I used... First of all, I fit a LOT of trainers in to help you get an early advantage. I also tried to stay away from rare Pokes, and I tried to keep the number of Mimes down as they get killed at the start of the game. If you could find some more Mewtwos, you could fit a 4th in instead of some of the trainers I used. I put stuff like Switch and Item Finder in because the space was available and they are always useful. After the bare-bones stuff I outlined above is taken care of, there are lots of directions you could take this deck, and my card listing is only one of them.
