Subject: Zapdos, Dark Dragonite, and Gengar, Oh My!!!!! Blastoise! Gotta make this quick. Satoshi went out for groceries half and hour ago and said he wanted a fix done when he got back. He should be here any minute, and I just woke up. =/! >>>> This deck was inspired when I got my Dark Dragonite, but I've been wrestling with the idea for a while. The Idea was to fill my deck with pokemon . . . with no weaknesses!!!!!! I haven't developed a strategy for playing the deck (I can't get the last Dark Dragonair) but I was trying to focus on defense with cards such as potion and Moo Moo Milk. I always use the same ratio for pokémon(p)-trainers(t)-and energy(e). p=20-t=15-e=25. Pokemon (20) 1 Zapdos (base) 1 Zapdos (promo #23) 2 Zapdos (fossil) 2 Cleffa (Neo 1) 1 Dratini (Rocket) 3 Dratini (Base) 1 Dragonair (Base) 2 Dark Dragonair (Rocket) 1 Dark Dragonite (Rocket) 3 Gastly (fossil) 1 Haunter (base) 1 Haunter (fossil) 1 Gengar (fossil) Trainers(15) 1 Healing Field 2 GoW 1 Rocket's Secret Experiment 2 Moo Moo Milk 1 ER 2 Balloon Berry 1 Professer Elm 3 Potion Energy (25) 1 DCE 2 Rainbow Energy 11 Electric Energy 11 Psychic >>>> Hmm...well, lots to work with right now. :\ Let's get to work! Pokemon (20) 1 Zapdos (base) 1 Zapdos (promo #23) 2 Zapdos (fossil) 2 Cleffa (Neo 1) 1 Dratini (Rocket) 3 Dratini (Base) 1 Dragonair (Base) 2 Dark Dragonair (Rocket) 1 Dark Dragonite (Rocket) 3 Gastly (fossil) 1 Haunter (base) 1 Haunter (fossil) 1 Gengar (fossil) Argh. WAY too many singles, man. Let's narrow the field down a bit by focusing on one evolution family with some backup. We'll work with the dragon family since it seems to be the best rounded Pokémon line here. First off, get a third Dark Dragonair, as two is just not good enough. Drop the regular Dragonair to find room. Next, drop both Haunters to add in two more Dark Dragonite. Next, drop the Gastly and the Gengar for 4 Rocket expansion Abra, and turn three of the Zapdos into Dark Kadabra and use the fourth for a third Cleffa. This gives us a nice Dark-pokémon deck, and makes it perfectly able to abuse everyone's favorite energy card - Darkness Energy. ;D Trainers(15) 1 Healing Field 2 GoW 1 Rocket's Secret Experiment 2 Moo Moo Milk 1 ER 2 Balloon Berry 1 Professer Elm 3 Potion Alright, first things first. Kill the Rocket's Secret Experiment, Moo Moo Milk, and the lone ER for 4 Professor Oak. Next, kill the Potions for three Itemfinder and drop the Balloon Berries and two Rainbow Energy for four Computer Search. IMO, every Unlimited deck should contain these three cards, as they're just too good. And guess what? Since we no longer play _any_ Lighting Pokémon, we've got 11 free Trainer spaces to throw around! Don't we feel lucky? ;D Let's start by adding in 2 Rocket's Hideout to help with that AWFUL Rocket Pokémon HP issue, and follow up with 3 Super Energy Removal to keep up that defensive strategy you were talking about - heh, so now it's defensive/disruptive, sue me. =P Let's also add in three Gold Berry and another Professor Elm, leaving us with 2 spaces for the Energy. Energy (12) 1 DCE 11 Psychic Alright, we've got two spaces extra. Add in two more DCE for the Dratini family to even us out at 60. Next, drop 3 Psychic to pop in three Darkness Energy to give us a nice power bonus. We're done! ;D Ack! And just in time, too. Satoshi's pulling into the driveway. Bye all! ... Thanks Blastoise. Hey, one little announcement. I'll be representing Team Pojo at the West Coast Stadium Challenge this weekend, so keep an eye out for me and say hi if ya want. Hope to see ya all there. Good luck and happy gaming!
