Trouble! Revised
July 5, 2000

Hey!I'm Adrian.I bought my dad a Trouble! Theme Deck and a booster for Father's Day.This deck is not actually too bad according to how well it did at the leagues. The main strategy is to play around some with Drowzee, some Ekans, Mew, Jynx, and Farfetch'd 'till you get Persian, Kadabra/Dark Kadabra, and Dark Arbok.

Pokemon

2 Meowth(All Rocket)
1 Persian

2 Farfetch'd

4 Ekans(All Rocket)
1 Dark Arbok

1 Mew

1 Jynx

4 Abra(3 Rocket,1 Base)
2 Dark Kadabra
1 Kadabra

Trainers

1 Rocket Sneak Attack
3 Bill
2 Gust of Wind
4 Potion
2 Super Potion
1 Professor Oak
1 Boss' Way

Energy
1 Full Heal Energy
10 Grass
18 Psychic

Please try not to suggest any rares. He doesn't have many extras and the only rares he has are Dark Arbok and Rocket Sneak Attack. Please don't suggest to remove The Potions or Super Potions. He loves them.Besides a lot of Pokemon have low HP.And Unfortunately the Bill and Oak are as high as high as they're going to get.If you are wondering he told me to type this letter.
                             Good Luck,
                                Adrian

Hey, Adrian and Adrian's Dad....

Good luck is right! Dudes, you are just going to have to trade for some needed cards. But I shall honor your requests as you have posted them, and try to stay within those bounds. But I do think it's KEWL that you are getting your dad involved in such a cool game!

Pokémon:

Hmmm... Ekans and Dk Arbok just don't seem worth the effort to split your deck's energy. Since you have a lot more Psychic Pokemon, let's eliminate the grass and get your deck more focused. Mew is nice as a Mewtwo Movie Promo buster. We'll try to work with Jynx also. Persian is one of my favorites even though Meowth is an awful basic... but let's keep him in and have fun with it. We'll even go with a higher count on his line. Farfetch'd is always great (and a favorite of Scott Gerhardt's *grin*).

Trainers:

Hmmm... No suggesting rares, huh.? I would usually recommend Computer Search and Item Finder here, but they are both rares. Vell, darling... we need find a way to search. Since you have also forbidden Oak (far and away my first choice), Gambler is a common and a fair alternative. Sure, we'll leave in the Potions at your request. They really are tons of fun to play when you are first starting out. How about a couple Energy Removal too? Those can be lots of fun.

Energy:

Obviously we eliminate the Grass Energy. Since your dad is just starting out, we'll keep the energy count high... as he gets better, dump some energy for some Oaks and the other rares I mentioned above. You REALLY need Double Colorless Energy (DCE) with this deck to make it quick and effective! Beg, borrow or trade to get 4 of them! And let's add in a few more Full Heal Energies if you can get your hands on them. If not, substitute Potion Energy or if all else fails, substitute Psychic instead.
