Hey all! Well, in a week or so I'll be coming up on my 2-year anniversary as a Pojo.com staff member and as a Deck Mech. In light of this, I've decided to do something rather unique for my deck fixes up until the 24th. When I had first began my work in the Shop, I did something like 13 deck fixes the first week-I was stoked that I was chosen, so I worked my rear off, lol. Well, those deck fixes were, I believe, Base through Team Rocket expansion-wise. So, I say, why not fix them for today's enviornment? Not all of them, mind you-just a few. ;-) Here's the first deck in the Satoshi's Shop-Classic Fixes...thing. ;-\ Name: Project Agility Originally Sent In/Fixed: The Week of 1/24/00 Fix Number: 6(I think?) >>>> "Project Agility" by Chris 17 fire energy 4 DCE 1 scyther 3 fossil magmar 3 ponyta 2 rapidash 2 lickitung 2 spearow 2 fearow 1 itemfinder 4 pluspower 1 scoop up 1 mr. fuji 1 pokemon trader 2 professor oak 2 switch 3 gust of wind 2 bill 1 energy retrieval 1 super potion 1 energy removal 1 super energy removal >>>> Okay, that's the deck that was sent in to me. My original fix follows. >>>> SATOSHI: Hmmm...I've got my work cut out for me. Let's start with pokemon. He said his strategy involved the agility attack. Let's take out the lickitung, then. In their place, add in two more scythers. Free retreat is always good, and 30 damage attack is even better. Other than that, the pokemon look pretty good. Onward. The trainers need the most work. I noticed a lot of singles. So, let's get to work. The item finder doesn't seem to serve any special purpose. It's out. So's the scoop up, super potion and mr. fuji. That's four spaces, so let's add in an 2 energy removals and one super energy removal. With the last space, I'm going to add in another super energy removal and take out the energy retrieval. In it's palce goes another energy removal. There. Now, since your pokemon don't have much of a retreat cost, let's take out the switches and add in another pokemon trader, so you can get out those rapidash and fearow. I'm gonna also add another bill to increase your drawing power. You were short 3 cards, so I'll add back in lickitung and another bill. Hmmm...looks good. Let's take a look: 17 fire energy 4 DCE 3 scyther 3 fossil magmar 3 ponyta 2 rapidash 2 lickitung 2 spearow 2 fearow 4 pluspower 2 pokemon trader 2 professor oak 3 gust of wind 4 bill 4 energy removal 3 super energy removal SATOSHI: Well, there you have it...hope this deck bring you some wins! Good Luck and Happy Gaming! >>>> Okay, let's take my original fix(above) and tweak it a bit. Pokémon (17) 3 scyther 3 fossil magmar 3 ponyta 2 rapidash 2 lickitung 2 spearow 2 fearow Hmmm....Well, I suppose this wasn't too bad for the era, but this would be ripped apart in today's enviornment. We'll start by ripping the Likitung, Spearow and Fearow out of the mix entirely. In their places, add 3 Blaine's Ponyta lv13 and 3 Blaine's Rapidash in. Next, ditch the Scythers for 3 Cleffa, and take out one Magmar for another Rapidash: Pokémon (17) 3 cleffa 2 fossil magmar 3 ponyta 3 rapidash 3 blaine's ponyta lv13 3 blaine's rapidash Trainers (22) 4 pluspower 2 pokemon trader 2 professor oak 3 gust of wind 4 bill 4 energy removal 3 super energy removal Excuse me for one second. ... OH MY GOD! =X ... Okay, now we can proceed. Remove the Pokémon Trader, 2 Gust of Wind, all four Energy Removal, one PlusPower and the four Bill, giving us 13 spaces. Add in 2 Cinnibar City Gym, 2 Professor Oak, 2 Misty's Wrath, 1 Time Capsule, 3 Computer Search, and 3 Itemfinder. Whew....Next, remove 5 Fire Energy for 3 Rocket's Sneak Attack and 2 Blaine, just in case those DCE don't show up soon enough. Trainers (27) 3 pluspower 4 professor oak 1 gust of wind 3 super energy removal 3 Computer Search 3 Itemfinder 2 Misty's Wrath 1 Time Capsule 2 Blaine 3 Rocket's Sneak Attack 2 Cinnibar City Gym And the Energy is fine as we've left it: Energy (16) 12 Fire Energy 4 DCE God...what was I thinking? O_o!! Anyways, we're done. Expect two more Classic Fixes this week, and three next week, ending with my first ever deck fix...oh boy, looking at my original fix here, I can't wait to see what I did to THAT deck. =/ Good luck and happy gaming!
