No, your eyes aren't decieving you. An
electric-psychic deck that doesn't look like the
unholy offspring of the Zap deck and a bunch of
boosters! A deck where the owner has taken the time to
properly think out his strategy and has refrained from
trying to cram in both psychic Stage 2 families!! And
yes, OH YES, no Basic ghosts or Basic Mewtwo!

Okay, I've calmed down now. This deck already has the
beginnings of excellence. Let's see if we can't make
it even better.

1) Mmm yes, I agree with you, Hypno is excellent. The
first psy Pokemon to break the 80-HP barrier, not to
mention affording some bench destruction. Raichu is
also good. Fossil, right? It needs to be. And your
Pikachus need to be Jungle. I mean, why not take the
bench destruction theme to its logical conclusion? You
might want to have one of your evolutions be 4-3, just
to increase their effectiveness. With Raichu being the
"backup" you probably want more Hypno, but use
whichever you like. Mmm, Electabuzz and Mime. Sweet.
You might want another Buzz, but don't sweat it. And
as for Snorlax, well, I'll leave him in if you like. I
mean, I run one Kangaskhan in my deck for much the
same reason.

2) Umm, your trainers...well, they're not quite as
good as your Pokes. Bill and Oak are good,
but...Imposter Oak?? This isn't a staller, is it? I
know that some places, they can come in handy,
but...It would have helped immensely if you had
related your strategy with regard to trainers. Without
any information, I'm going to have to go ahead and
clean out some of them. Imposter Oak and Scoop Up
should go. In most cases, it isn't worth having Scoop
just for Electabuzz, Snorlax and such. While there may
be a few games where you lose and then think "geez, if
only I had been running Scoop," ask yourself how many
more there will be where you draw a scoop and wish
you'd drawn something more useful. You need Energy
Removal anyway. Do you really need Item Finder? It can
be useful, so I'll leave it, but...How about Mr. Fuji?
And do you really need the Traders on top of the
Searches? I don't think you really should need them,
so I'll take them out to make space for the
aforementioned Hypno. The rest are not neccessarily
bad cards, so I'll leave them, but do think about it.
Maybe you use them for something; I don't know. GOW is
useful, and works with your theme, so good.

3) You didn't mention energy problems. If you have
them, try taking out some of the aforementioned
dubious trainers for either more energy or some
Retrievals. Otherwise don't bother.

Hmm, in adding it up, I found 61 cards. I'm not sure
whether this was my error, or whether your original
had too many cards. Not that big of a problem. I
decided to drop an Item Finder on the spur of the
moment rather than anything else. Anyway...good luck
to you. Pokemon-wise, this was an excellent deck.
Trainers-wise, it had a bit of dubious content, but
nothing horrible...To anybody who's sending in their
modified Zap, take a look at this first. It's by no
means the only way to make the Zap deck workable, but
it's a good solution. Do I seem obsessed with Zap?
Perhaps...it's just that I see so many little kids
playing it either out of the box, or with equally bad
modifications, and I feel bad about that. This
demonstrates a way to make it good.
