Who Let the Big Dog out?

What's up, Jason? I was wonderin if you could have a look at my new Arcanine deck I just made. I am having a lot of trouble with Super Energy Removal.

Pokémon: (17)
4x Magmar (fossil)
4x Growlithe
3x Arcanine
4x Electabuzz
2x Erika's Dratini

Trainers: (22)
3x Professor Oak
3x Computer Search
3x Bill
3x Defender
3x Pokémon Center
3x Item Finder
2x No Removal Gym
1x Chaos Gym
1x Energy Retrieval

Energy: (21)
11x Fire
8x Lightning
2x Double Colorless

-------------------------------

Strategy:
Seems like getting Arcanine out should be easy with a 4/4 line, Magmar's Smokescreen, and an ability to fight and counter water. (Buzz) But, you can't win with Arcanine unless you learn how to work around Energy Removal. I'll teach you how!

Pokémon:
You're playing 4 of things you don't have to. You only need 3 Electabuzz, and 3 Magmar. 4 is just too much. You have enough drawing to get what you need. I think you need some fighting resistance. Where's the Scythers? Add two. 14 basic. A little high, but this deck may have trouble with traps and RSA, so you need your high basic.

Trainers:
Defender and Arcanine are nice. No Removal Gym is a decent weapon, against Energy Removal, but you have a better option, which is in the paragraph below. You need to get back fire energy without playing so much. Add one Nightly Garbage Run.

Most importantly, your deck needs Lass. When you get Arcanine out or are prepared to and don't want to wait another turn to give your opponent a chance to Super you, play Lass. Arcanine will be able to Take Down it's way through basics one by one, giving you a significant prize advantage without removal trouble, hopefully for a few turns. Add 2 Lass.

Also, take out the Pokémon Centers. I can assure you they will rarely be useful. I have no idea why you have any, and am baffled why anyone would play more than one in this type of deck.

You need a way to get some of this stuff out of the active spot. Play two Switch. Also, you need two Gusts of Wind to take out weaklings and threats, or to stall. Drop the retrieval for just another energy!

Energy:
I think the energy can go down a little. Let's try out 9 Fire, 6 Lightning, and 3 Double Colorless, as you need it for a turn three Take Down, which is very nice, especially with some help from Lass. Energy seems a little low for an Arcanine deck, but you have the drawing, and should be able to get away with it. We're done.
