Jeremy I wanted to know what you thought of the New Dark Gengar. The deck I made is just awesome. My record is  12-2.

I thought I would have a guest help me today so I asked Martin Moreno to help me out. He is number one on the Pojo ladder and a good player and deck builder.


Jeremy:  Ok Martin whats you first thought on this deck?
Martin Moreno:  So you dont wanna fix the Gengar deck after all?
Martin Moreno:  omg
Martin Moreno:  duh, its part of the conversation
Martin Moreno:  edit that out
Jeremy:   No problum
Martin Moreno:   I think Dark Gengar is one of the better decks in the Modified format.
Jeremy:  I have though of it as more of a fourth or fifth choice not a real tourney winning deck.
Martin Moreno:  It can possibly take it. I mean, the win on Gatr is rare but not improbable. Gengar REALLY shines in the Modified format, theres only a few minor things I would change.


Jeremy:  Lets start off with the Pokemon

Jeremy:  The Gengar line looks good at 4/4/3
Martin Moreno:  I can see why he put in Tyrogue, but Psychic resistance mainly comes in the form of Murkrow, so i wouldent think colorless would threaten this too much. So i say we trade 'em in for something else.
Jeremy:   Magby maybe
Martin Moreno:   hmm, i say we fit in some Murkrows
Jeremy:  I have never liked the Misdrevius much but it is usefull on Steelix and stuff like that what do you say we drop 2 for 2 Murkrows
Jeremy:  I say we Tech 1, So we can make room for the Murkrows.
Martin Moreno:  I really doubt Misdrevius's effectiveness because of Double Gust
Martin Moreno:  The new found need for Full heal in more decks, and that its attack is a bit expensive
Martin Moreno:  I say a TeCh Misdrevious woulden't be that bad for that Surprize Tyranitar or what not that slipped right by you.
Jeremy:  ok
Martin Moreno:   That would work well. Drag in/Double Sleep is lethal with Mean look
Jeremy:  The Elekids seem like wasted space
Martin Moreno:   More like Pichu bait if you ask me.
Jeremy:   Pichu is every where
Martin Moreno:  Heck, it's in Slowking...even under your bed!
Jeremy:  Cleffas?
Martin Moreno:   I think 3 is fine.
Martin Moreno:  maybe we add in a Promo Igglybuff as a sUrPriZe card.

Jeremy:   two time Capsules seem to stick out as a waste.
Martin Moreno:   I think, instead of heavy Wrath/Bosses way, we can change it To Erika/Imposter Oak's Revenge.
Martin Moreno:  You gain Draw power, while lowering your opponents options at the same time.
Martin Moreno:  Time Capsule and Erika tend to compliment Chaos gym more efficiently.
