Diancie is a curious Pokemon, given that it's the second Rock/Fairy type, the first being Carbink who was released in the same generation! I wonder if there's a way to get a free Diancie out of one of your Carbinks...

Anywho, Diancie-EX! She's got an attack in the form of Wonder Stage, which for an EX is a mediocre 3-for-60 hit. It's not to say Diancie-EX is that great, she does start with only 150 HP. but it would't be so bad if she had a good attack or something. Wonder Stage is okay, and it does get better with a Stadium around, able to deal 110 damage, but even then that's modestly good at best.

Then there's Sparkle Veil, her Ability. As long as Diancie-EX is Active, she'll reduce any damage to any of your Pokemon - I believe herself included - from your opponent's attacks by 30. That's not too shabby, if you can combine that with some additional healing to even out her low HP score. Although looking at it, she is effectively working with 180 HP with the Ability technically...

Is she worth running though? I'm not sure. The damage reduction is nice, but it only works if Diancie-EX is in the Active slot, which why would she be given Wonder Stage...isn't that wonderful? An okay mix at least, not terrible but could be a lot better.

Rating

Standard: 2/5 (Diancie-EX is okay to start, but she should've been able to do more)

Expanded: 2/5 (if that was the case, she'd be great)

Limited: 4/5 (as she stands...not so much)

Arora Notealus: Seriously, how do I get my Carbink to become a Diancie? Aside from going to my nearest event location and retrieving a Diancie from the mailman.
