Mom’s Kindness MD

Hello! It’s seems like we have the most useless card ever… Now, the effect is simple, draw 2 cards. How can that be so bad? Well, let’s go over this. Felicity’s Drawing lets you draw up to 4, Prof. Oak’s Visit lets you draw 3, and even Team Galactic’s Mars lets you draw 2 AND get rid of one of your opponent’s cards from their hand… As it is, this card has so many better replacements that it isn’t funny.

Pros –

Nobody will really like Telepassing it…

Cons –

Supporter

There are much better draw cards out there

Modified – LOL, Haha, oh, that’s funny. 1/5

Limited – TAKE IT! All draw is good draw here. 5/5

Oh, just a side note, the rest of the week is all trainers too.

“If mom only gave me 2 cards and Felicity gave me 4, I’d move out of mom’s house and move in with Felicity…”
Jigglypuff13 6/30 Mom's Kindness (MD)

It's difficult to figure out where to start with when reviewing Mom's Kindness, mainly because there is only one thing that I can talk about, the effect. It draws 2 cards. That's it. I mean, that's alright, but it's hardly the most inspiring effect. Drawing 2 cards gives the same +1 card advantage that cards like POV and T.V. Reporter give. However, before you start thinking Mom's Kindness is as good as those cards (and I hope you don't), then I want you to stop and think, what would you prefer. Would you like to draw 3 cards and then get rid of one, or just to draw 2 cards. Drawing 3 cards give you more options, and having to get rid of one is hardly a bad thing since you could get rid of something you don't need at the moment like a starter or a tech you don't need. Drawing 2 cards is just restrictive, since you get less options, and you have to keep any rubbish that you draw or have in your hand. However, looking at other draw cards, one popular one also draws just 2 cards, and that is TGM. However, while it only draws 2 cards, it does also get rid of one from your opponents hand, which is a great effect, and increases the card advantage for Team Galactic's Mars to +2. Mom's Kindness does nothing like that, so is basically useless.

Now, hold on a sec, you may be thinking, Bill (and old Base Set card that you may or may not have heard of) used to only draw 2 cards as well, so you may be thinking Mom's Kindness is as good as Bill. There is one difference though. Bill was a normal Trainer, and thus can have multiple copies used per turn, where as Mom's Kindness is a supporter, and thus you can only use 1 per turn, and you can't use another supporter that turn. That just makes Mom's Kindness worse, a lot worse. Really, unless you are about 6 or are only using a Theme Deck, I really hope you are not using/considering to use this card, because it is dreadful.

Modified: If the card was a normal trainer called Bill, it would be brilliant. It isn't, so it's rubbish. I mean, really, if Mom was so kind, why doesn't she give you more cards? 1/5

Limited: Any draw here is good, so use it. I still wish it was better though. 3.5/5

Mom's Kindness!

Draw 2 cards? Where have I seen this before?!

Give me a break; I just played like, 36 hours of Pokémon. I'm not even that funny when I'm not tired.

Combos

None. This card is simply far too inferior to Professor Oak's Visit. It's the Sand Attack Eevee to the Eevee with Call For Family, except there are like, a billion Eevees with better attacks.

Ratings (1 - Sux, 3 - Meh, 5 - Rox)

Modified: 1/5. Other than that one case where you absolutely need the top 3 cards of your deck, and have an Electabuzz d that you evolved from an Elekid on your bench, Professor Oak's Visit is better than this card in every way imaginable. EVERY.
Limited: 5/5. A draw supporter in draft is just really, really good. Almost as good as NOT FINISHING 33RD.
Unlimited: 1/5. BILL.

PS: Chrisbo, thanks for the Pokegym die!
Alazor Mom's Kindness

I can't really think of a good combo with this card that can't be used with any other card. I'd use this card in a less competitive environment.

Modified 2/5 Unless you have all the other draw supporters maxed out in your deck, I wouldn't play this. But 5/5 for Moms.

Limited 5/5 Draw power-- take it!
