Absol

Unlimited - Poop. 1/5

Modified - Can have a devastating effect early in the game by discarding your opponent's key cards. You can also maybe win the game on turn 1 or 2 by dropping absol to your bench, switching with it, and attaching a special dark energy to do 50. 4/5

Limited - It's probably annoying here too. Discard all those energy and pokemon your opponent is holding. 4/5

Absol Lv. 41 SW

Hello people. Having the ability not only to steal your hand but also second place is Absol! Nice 70 HP and only +20 weakness is just enough to avoid OHKO from a first turn Riolu. The second attack (Skipping over the first for now.) is OK, (d) for 10 unless you played Absol that turn (Not during setup though.) Or it’s a special dark energy. The first attack is where this poke’ shines though, for (C) you get a nice chance to discard not only one card from your opponent’s hand, but two card for the price of one! That’s a steal! Used with amazing results in any deck that uses Team Galactic Mars and Team Galactic Wager and with even better results when used with Honchkrow!

Pros –
70 HP and only +20 weakness avoids flippy OHKO
Raid is decent during late game.
Baleful wind rocks!
All of this on a basic pokemon!

Cons –
Fighting weakness

Unlimited – Bill + Oak’s + Item finder = No Absol. 1/5

Modified – It’s amazing here, 1 or 2 cards from your opponent’s hand for only (c)! 5/5

Limited – Less cards in hand – less trainers = still good. 4.5/5

Next COTD top 10. Rocket Propelled Socks?!?!

Absol

Love it or hate it, Absol is undeniably the most popular and effective disruptive pokemon used this season. If you've played at all you'll know. Against an onslaught of baleful wind, your hand will disintegrate quickly. It even comes with a dark attack - Raid - which could be helpful against Banette and other things. With the card ranked at #8 Team Galactic's Mars, you can nail up to three of their hand. That really will put someone at an advantage. There is only one score that can truly reflect the impact this card has had...

Modified: 5/5
Limited: 3.4/5 Reducing their hand may turn out to be an effective way of limiting evolutions and prolonging the game until you get yours. It certainly appears to be efficient, I would use it in a prerelease for sure.
Arbok14 Getting closer to #1..! Anyway, today on this fine Thursday we have Absol from Secret Wonders wreaking havoc at #2.

Name: Absol Lv 31
Set: Secret Wonders
Rarity: Rare

Analysis: Let me just say that while this is not the best card ever, it is definitely one of my favorites. This is one of the more controversial cards out there, being that some people believe it is too good and others believe it sucks. Some think it should be banned... I for one do not. I love this card because it can completely destroy your opponent's hand and allows you to get your deck going. It's just really fun to play with but not against. Basically, it's somebody you are glad to have on your team who you would hate to face. Wow... Anyway, this card has 70 HP for a basic (not bad) and a retreat cost of 1. Baleful Wind is the reason to use this card, because it discards up to 2 cards from your opponent's hand. Raid can provide some surprise KO's. Anyways, Absol is a starter Pokemon, which loses value as the game draws on.

Unlimited: Not bad at the beginning, but you can fetch trainers back... (1/5)

Modified: Just really awesome and fun. (5/5)

Limited: Pretty good here too. (4/5)

Raichu88
Unlimited: Could be one devastating card cause almost every
good deck plays 4 Bill, 4 Oak, 4 Erika. But still this thing could
match the speed of Unlimited.

Rating : 2/5

Modified: I’m sick of this thing it’s so luck based. A lot of Decks
are playing this as a starter right now. Decks like Gallade/Gardy, Magmortar
and Absol/Honchkrow. I might be a little hypocrite cause I played Absol/Honchkrow myself and got me 3rd and 5th place but still it’s just pure luck. It’s like back in the day when everybody played Dunsparce as starter but then you had to have some skill to decide wich Pokemon to choose for your Setup. Great Encounters will change the Metagame IMO.

Rating : 3/5

Limited: Not that effective as you don’t pull that many Trainers/Supporters.

Rating : 1/5
