Unlimited - Electivire and Dragonite both have the same power. I would rather use Dragonite. Metal type, agility attack, good resistance. 1/5

Modified - There are no pokemon that can abuse Electivire's power like there were in formats prior, such as Metagross and Electrode ex. (At least I don't think there are, there could be a new card coming out in SW that combos with it). You could combo it with Electivire DP. Motor Drive an energy back to Electivire SW, then trans it to Electivire DP. But that seems like an inferior combo to Blissey/Electivire. The attack is bad, only doing an average of 25 damage for each energy, AND you have to discard them all. Heavy retreat cost combined with weakness to Lucario makes this a bad Pokemon! 2/5

Limited - Is there even an Electabuzz in this set? If so, this could be pretty good here. Charge it up with energy from your discard while attacking with a different Pokemon. 3/5
