A type resisted only by the Salamence family but effective against Steelix ex, Metagross and others, fire is the way to go! Strong attacks and a perfect free retreat cost make him appear to be the new archetype, but the level X restrictions are painful. You also need some form of switch to get the energies from Blaziken/Typhlosion onto Infernape if you only have one in play. Maybe I'm wrong, but Infernape LvX's attack seems mediocre in that it looks slow to fuel. Still, it looks very potent!

Infernape Lv. 40 Diamond & Pearl

Hi there everyone. The COTD today is the highest level evolvement of the fire starter Poke’. This card look like it could kick some well… umm… you know. It is fire (great Vs. Metanite) and has free (yes 0, none, zip, ZERO) retreat. The first attack is O.K. And the second attack, can O.H.K.O. Metagross.

Pros –
Free retreat!
90 damage for 2 (F)
Two sided coins. LOL =D

Cons –
No delta basic
Lowish HP
The first attack is flippy, and the second attack needs discard.

Unlimited – 2/5 To slow, go to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Modified – 5/5 Top marks as the best anti-Metanite card out there.

Limited – 4/5 Dang, this thing is a beast if you can get it out, until then good luck.

Thank you, come again,
