Noctowl Lv. 40 D&P

Hi everybody. Today’s COTD is Noctowl, this poke’ needs a good power boost (or better effects.) His first attack is OK, but would have been better if it did something extra. The second attack is also OK, but unless you use a copycat or a Holon scientist, it will most likely do 30 damage.

Pros –
Prize revelation (I guess that’s a word)
Can do 80 damage for 3 ©

Cons –
Can be OHKO’ed by the ‘fast flaming fart monkey’ Infernape
Attacks aren’t good enough

Unlimited – No, no, no, no, no 1/5

Modified – Still not good enough 2/5

Limited – Easier to use the second attack as hands tend to be the same size here, small 3 /5

Dang, just another “not good enough” rare in my pack,

Noctowl Lv. 40 Diamond and Pearl

Unlimited: 1/5 No way.

Modified: 2/5 This isn't very good in Modified either. Extrasensory is very situational and COULD be used right after a Copycat. It's also Boostable.

Limited: 2.5/5 I might just splash this in if I draft it here. Otherwise it's not so good.

This bird is in much the same boat that Medicham is. His low HP make it hard for anyone to really use his attacks well. But they are good attacks. You can take a useless card from your hand and put it face up in your prizes to pick up a prize card. I can't tell you how many times a needed Monferno or Infernape were stuck in my prizes. This attack would be excellent if it was a Poke Power, but there yah go. The second attack is ok. It will mostly be 3 energy for 50 damage, which once on a blue moon will turn into 80. All in all it is almost playable.

Noctowl Lv 40
I like this card shiftry did almost the same thing and it were a monster in its time. Noctowl is better by almost any definition.
Youll of course need to build your deck around it get a way to copy(cat :) ) your hand whenever you need it. but there loads of ways to get a hand at same size as you opponents. Remember Delcatty isnt forced to draw exactly 3 cards you may draw less if you want to..... a few cards follows this princip.
See beyond is totally irrelevant. nearly at least.

all in all a good card in limited its a pure breed nearly impossible to beat monster
