Medicham Lv. 42 D&P

Happy Monday, hope you’ve had a good weekend. Today’s COTD is Medicham, this card looks good, until you figure that the ‘Force Palm’ attack is almost useless as most evolved pokemon can OHKO Medicham. The spinning kick attack is good because it can 2HKO Flygon EX (unless Flygon can attack,) and can OHKO almost any stage 1 or lower that will evolve. Sadly Medicham is 10 – 20 HP away from being big, and probably the business partner of Machamp D&P instead of Lucario. If only Energy Root wouldn’t go away next year…

Pros –
Stage 1
Can do 80 damage for 1 (f)
Good second attack

Cons –
2 retreat
Can be OHKO’ed by the “hot headed flaming monkey” Infernape, Flygon EX, Banette EX, Machamp, ETC…

Unlimited – no 1/5

Modified – 4/5 paired with energy root, 3/5 without

Limited – It can work here as it can OHKO everything, and can’t be OHKO’ed by much 4/5

We need another energy root next year, and then Medicham might see some play,

Medicham Lv. 42 Diamond and Pearl

Unlimited: 1/5 Too slow. Not a chance here.

Modified: 3/5 You see, this card has the potential to be a very decent card in this format. As of late I have been testing it with Machamp PK to form a kind of neo-Mario deck. However, at first glance its first attack looks like it will make this card, but that's not true. Its first attack is hardly used because of a heavy OHKO format which leaves its second attack which is pretty decent in itself. The only reason I'm giving this a 3 and not higher is because I have tested and found out that its not as good as I first thought it was.

Limited: 4/5 This is a very good card in Limited. 90 HP, good attacks. Play it.

Medicham

Well, I have never liked Medicham very much. This card does not convince me otherwise. 90 hp is OHKO territory, so most likely he won't live long enough for his attacks to do very much damage except to himself. Force Palm is a great attack, but with only 90 hp, you are only going to be doing minimal damage or none at all. Spinning Kick is alright. 80 damage for 3 energy is pretty good, but the 20 damage it does to itself is hardly worth it. I suppose that it was meant to combo with Force Palm, but it doesn't really work.

Medicham lv 42

80 for FFC is great. 20 to itself not so good. spinning kicks is an interesting attack great power with great drawback an interesting combo but I personally not think its going to make the cut.
its attacks are good as a whole. force palm is very usefull to attack with when medicham suddenly becomes unable to deal with the drawback.
2 retreat is par, but 1 would be nice. 90 HP is ok, but chipping away 20 HP each attack that is very much needed.
I wont say this is a bad card while it isnt. I personsally dont belive this do anything great but it woudnt suprise me either.
in limited this is ûber powerfull 80 is exactly the correct number to hit here.
