Yes.

One of the neatest combos in the game is to use Pokemon Center with
Alakazam:  Move all of your damage counters onto a few Chansey's on your
bench with no energy cards attached to them.  Then use the Pokemon Center
and wipe all of the damage counters away.  Since your attacker won't have
any damage counters on it to remove, Pokemon Center will NOT make
it discard any of its energy cards!  Pretty cool.
