The DCI currently allows Japanese cards ONLY if you have the English card laying around to show your opponent (so they know what it does). So this means that if you don't have a copy of the card in English, then you CAN'T use it in "official" sanctioned game play. Yes, you MUST use opaque-backed sleeves so that no-one can see whether the card is english or japanese. We have very little information on Fossil at this time. Brian Brokaw
