I havea question. It will be more clear if I
provide it with an example.
I have a Nidoran Male as my active pokemon. Can I
set down a Pokemon Breeder, use Oak, and if I get a Nidoking play it directly
down on Nidoran?

Nope. You have to play the Nidoking when you play the Breeder.
It's an immediate evolve thing.
