As long as you can pay both retreat costs, this is perfectly legal, and a good strategic move (to remove Poison or other "effects" that are cancelled when your Pokemon is benched). > 2. I've read so many base Ghastly Q&A that I'm confused! Let's say > Ghastly uses Destiny Bond against Scyther, then Scyther retreats and is > replaced by Kangaskhan. KangasKhan then comet punches Ghastly into > discard heaven. Who gets waxed, Scyther or Kangaskhan? The Destiny Bond "effect" resides solely with Gastly. If a Pokemon knocks out Gastly on Gastly's next turn, then _THAT_ Pokemon is knocked out. It doesn't matter which Pokemon was defending against Gastly when it used its Destiny Bond attack.
