Grimer's Minimize attack only reduces DAMAGE DONE BY ATTACKS to Grimer. So, during your opponent's turn, the base damage of 20 is reduced by Grimer's Minimize (just like you said), but the Poison CONDITION is applied. After the attack is over, and just before your turn, all Poison Conditions kick in and apply 10 damage to each Poisoned Pokemon. Since this damage is from the Poison CONDITION and not an attack, Minimize is powerless to stop it. Brian Brokaw
