While in your hand, Mysterious Fossil (and Clefairy Doll) is a TRAINER CARD. It does NOT count as a basic Pokemon and so you HAVE to take a mulligan. However, if you also had a Basic Pokemon in your hand, you COULD have played Mysterious Fossil to the table during game setup. Even though it is a Trainer Card while in your hand and when you play it, it is a special Trainer Card that allows you to play it anytime you would play a Basic Pokemon Card. > P.S > I have been looking for your book in stores everywhere but I havent seen it > at all.
