Ack!  am I too late?  sorry... never got back into the swing
of things after turkey day :-)

You know, the BEST thing that I've found showing me what's what
in Japan is PoJo's magazine.  If you can find a copy of it, there
are these great sections about the Pokemon Centers in Japan.
I think the newest issue has even better info in it. The guy in
charge of Pocketmonsters.com lives and works over there and he
sends cool reports to the magazine each month.

Lastly, but not Pokemon, if you get him some Yu-Gi-Oh CCG cards,
he will be pleasantly surprised in about a year
when they finally catch on here...  It's not Pokemon, but its
what Japanese kids are going crazy for right now.
