Deloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier...first, I'm not an expert on Tigers, but don't they prefer to not be in icy climates?  We have a Level 6, Water attributed, Synchro Monster, who is a Beast, with 2000 attack and 1400 defense.  Synchro Summoned with one Tuner and one or more non-Tuner Water mosnters.

I guess it's cool to see a Water Synchro Monster, as there aren't many, while Beast and Water don't go together too well.  Anyway, once per turn you can return any number of face-up cards you control to your Hand.  For each card returned via this effect, this card gains 500 attack until the End Phase.

Hmm...why would you play something with only 2000 attack even if you can kinda increase the attack slowly and not permanently when you could just Synchro for something stronger to begin with?  You guys get back to me on that one...

Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier ...

Dewloren is an interesting cat ... I guess he's built for an Ice Barrier Deck (hence his title), but he fits so well into oh so many more. Beast, Water, AZ, Crystal Beast, etc. And he's got so much OTK potential, it ridiculous. Ok, i'm gonna start off by saying that I don't usually read up on these guys ahead of time, so I don't know before hand what "everyone is doing with them" and am not privy to all the established combos that are already running rampant in Japan or whatever. I can only go based on what I've done, have had done against me, or what I can imagine doing with my understanding of the card's abilities and overall knowledge of the game. That being said - Dewloren has a lot going for him. Right off the bat - do the math - 500 ATK boost for every one of your cards returned to your hand by his effect. That means he has the potential to boost himself to 7000. (5 spell/traps, 4 monsters, and 1 field spell). Yes, that's wishful thinking. It's hard (and unwise) to load your field with that many monsters too rampantly, so maybe u'll have 1 or 2? ... and chances are u would need them to help push for damage ... So u look to returning your spells and traps for the boost - But then they have to be FACE UP .... hmmm ... getting trickier now, huh?

Ok - so the best u can do to help manage this is to be using a bunch of Equip and Continuous spells which can be face up any time u need them to be ... In which case, u can hopefully expect to get his attack up to at least about 3000 - 3500 ATK on average ... and that's only per each Dewloren! He's 6 stars, so with the mega Sychro swarming going on these days, it wouldn't be inconceivable to have a 2nd one on the field at the same time. After u return your cards on the first one, activate the spells again, and then return them to hand again to boost the 2nd Dewloren. If these were attack boosting  equip spells, that's pretty much game in hand right there once u reattach them for the 3rd time to make one of your Dewloren's ATK skyrocket even further, assuming your opponent has no answer. And this is just a very basic and simple scenario which Dewloren will be kicking butt. Combo it with cards that have extra added benefits from returning to your hand, and u are now opening things up to a whole HOST of exciting fun possibilities.

I'm looking forward to seeing the abuse that comes with this guy. He got the cover for a reason.

As the cover card for Hidden Arsenal 2, you may be wondering two things: "Brionac is ashamed" and/or "Why not Naturia Beast?" This guy is semi-limited for some loop or whatever, but if you want an FTK loop, you've got Frogs. And so does everyone else. So, with that part of him useless, what can Dewloren do?

Return face-up cards back to your hand once per turn to give him a little attack boost. You only want to do this to continuous spells and traps, really. It's a great combo with Royal Oppression, but it hurts only being able to use Water materials, meaning a deck abusing that combo might not get far regardless. At a paltry 2000 ATK, with your Oppression coming out after his summon (or even if it's already up), don't count on him surviving very long.

Fun Fact: Before he came to the TCG, he was just a little Tiger Prince. Haha, inaccurate name changes.
Tomorrow: This guy gets creative with his hats.

Ah, Dewloren.  You're limited to 2 in the OCG with good reason, eh?  In the TCG, however, you're at 3.  Recently released alongside some new "Ice Barrier" monsters in Hidden Arsenal 2 (And Duel Terminal 2), I honestly wasn't that thrilled when I pulled him.  His attack and defense scores are subpar, and his effect has limited uses (recycling Monarchs...ahh, I can see the fun.)  In the OCG, he was a part of a nice combo deck, which forced him to be dropped to 2.  Here in the TCG, I don't expect a whole lot from him.  Oh, one more thing to note.  If the card(s) he targets don't go back to your hand (Synchro Monsters) then he doesn't get the attack boost.
