Starstrike Blast cards, one of the more interesting sets out in a while, but it's time to move on. Formula Synchron, is a Level 2 Synchro Monster, Synchro Summoned with one Tuner and one non-Tuner monster. This is a Light attributed monster with 200 attack and 1500 defense.

Let's take a second to discuss Level 2 Synchro Monster...you have to use two monsters, obviously, and one being a Level 1 Tuner (which is plausible enough) and a separate Level 1 monster. Is it worth it to play?

Well, when your Synchro Summon Formula Synchron, you Draw one card from your Deck. Now, for an awesome new ability, during your opponent's Main Phase, you can Synchro Summon if you use said Formula Synchron
(face-up.)

This is incredible, to be able to Synchro Summon during your opponent's turn. Now, it's true, you could (or even should) just perform the Synchro Summon during your turn, and ignore this card completely.
However, your opponent will likely dump a resource to destroy/prevent you from using this, I like it :)

Formula Synchron needs his own theme song. So many people wanted this card from me at the Sneak. This card is the only Synchro Tuner we have -- it's a Synchro, and a Tuner. Herp derp. Use Spore and Glow-Up Bulb with your Fluffies to make this. You get a free draw for making Formula Synchron, then you can hop up to your real Synchro. So, if you want Goyo, you can turn a Fluff token into a real draw.

It's overrated, but still very good. If you can manage to make a Black Rose Dragon out of your Formula Synchron, because this card can Synchro Summon during your OPPONENT'S turn, you have total control of the game! And you do need this to make Shooting Star Dragon.

Fun Fact: I like me some Amazoness cards.
Tomorrow: The A-Team. No, not the badass one, the naked paper airplane one.

Review:

Today’s card of the Day is Formula Synchron. This is a very interesting card, because it is the second synchro tuner monster I have seen (Armory Arm with light wave tuning being the first).  It’s effect allows you to draw a card when you synchro with him, and you can synchro during your opponents turn. It is a light attribute 2 star machine.

I like this card. First off, you get a draw off of it when you synchro with it. Next, you can synchro on your opponents turn. So far, the only synchro monster that requires this card is the new Shooting Star Dragon. And that is pretty much what you will see this used for. Since Stardust has his negate ability, your opponent will force it so you can’t synchro.  It comes back at the end phase and sets you up to synchro their turn. There are plenty of set ups you can do with this card as well, such as a black rose nuke on your opponent’s turn. This also sets up the more frequent use of one star broken tuners, like effect veiler. All in all, it’s a bit of trouble to get out, but totally worth the effort.

Traditional 3.7/5 (harder to remove from play than most cards)
Advanced 4/5
Art: It’s like a Minicon.

Perhaps one of the most meta defining cards ever printed. Here we have Formula Synchron. A level 2, light Machine, Synchro Tuner.....wait what was that? Synchro Tuner? Yeah, you heard right. Formula Synchron is the pioneering card to a new card type called Synchro tuners, as the name suggests they are synchro monsters that can also tune.

It has 200 attack and 1500 defense, so its not going to stop much. But what really matters is its effect. When its synchro summoned, you draw a card, so this card pays for half of itself. His second effect is during your opponents main phase you can synchro summon. Yes thats right. Synchro summon during your opponents main phase, oh and the best part? It starts a chain. So for example, lets say your opponent activates Dark Hole, why not synch up that Cauis you have laying around for Stardust and negate that Dark Hole? This is just one of many combos he can make.

Traditional- 4/5 (Im sure some crazy combos exist here)
Advanced- 5/5 (Oh hell yeah)
Art- Vroom, Vroom
Random Comment- If they ever make a Formula Warrior, Quickdraw will have another toy to play with.

Formula Synchron …

From my “understanding” … (yes, in quotes), this card is pretty cool. It’s ATK is crap, so it’s not for fighting, but it branches out, breaking rules of the game that hadn’t (or barely) been broken before.

For starters – once created, u draw a card. Always a nice bonus for doing ANYTHING in this game. Next – it is a Synchro AND Tuner monster. A very new thing to hit the Yu-gi-oh environment. And lastly – the crunchiest part of FormSynch is that he can Synchro summon on your opponent’s turn! This is awesome. There’s some trap that allows for this kind of hidden play, but 9 out of 10 things are better in Monster form. So long as u have another monster out there with it, u can Synch them up anytime u like, during the main phase. I'm pretty sure that means u can side step almost any targetting effect, as once your opponent activates one on any of your monsters, u can synch them out with FormSynch's effect, nullifying the target and bringing out something a lot heavier than your opponent was prepared for.

I like it a lot, as a bunch of new unpredictable moves are begging to be invented from this. I like cards that get the creative juices flowing. It’s only downside is that it’s a level 2 synchro, meaning u need a level 1 tuner and a level 1 monster to make it. Not the hardest thing in the world, but not always a given either.

Uhm …
Yeah.
