General Zorpa Jade Knight

Now this card would have been godly just a few short formats ago in the Overdragon Format. 1000 ATK and 1800 DEF are meh, but LIGHT Machines are always welcome. This was one of the centerpiece cards in my LIGHT Machine deck because of this.

Don't forget the effects! Your opponent cannot kill your Machines with less than 1200 ATK cannot be destroyed by Traps. Cyber Phoenix Anybody? This is an ok effect, maybe handy against the occasional Mirror Force, but not much else.

The second effect is like Sangan's but way better for what Machines needed. You get to search for a LIGHT Machine of the level 4 variety from your deck and add it to your hand when he dies in battle. That means that mostly what you woul dbe getting is Reflect Bounder and Blue Thunder T-45.

A deck packing these cards can do some serious damage with Honest (who does not by popular belief ONLY belong in a Lightsworn deck). This guy would ONLY be used in such a deck, as he is almost useless everywhere else. Too bad, the art is awesome!

Jade Knight Review:

I personally like this card for multiple reasons. Unlike Cyber Phoenix, this card does not need to be in attack position to get its effect to protect machines with 1200 attack or less from being destroyed by traps, and with 1800 defense it can hold off a lot of high attacking monsters.

This cards pretty cool because of how it differs from Cyber Phoenix, but a problem with it is its low attack. 1000 gives it safety from trap cards sure, but when it comes to going on the attack, Jade Knight needs more than just a Mirror Wall or Shrink to save it. Luckily people have their trusty Honests to use, with Jade Knight being a light attributed monster.

On the topic of light monsters, when Jade Knight is destroyed in battle and sent to the graveyard, you can add a light attributed machine monster that is a level four monster from your deck to your hand. Which means you can add another Jade Knight to your hand if you really want, which is kinda cool.

I've always liked this card since I saw its art in spoilers but without better light attribute machine monsters that are level four only, I dont think this card will be seeing much play if any, anytime soon.

Anteaus Jade Knight

Another meh card. Jade Knight is kind of like the Warrior Lady of the Wasteland for Machines, except a bit worse. Sure, your 1200 or less ATK Machines can't be destroyed by trap cards, and when it dies you can bring one 4-star Light Machine from your deck to your hand. This is one of the worst recruiting cards I've ever seen, and his ATK value is even worse! This card is one of the worse Machines out there right now, and there are a lot of junkers floating around. Don't waste your time with this, unless he's crucial to some strategy that I have yet to figure out.

Jade Knight …

Hmmm … what to do with this thing? … I don’t really know. 1000 ATK is very very low for a 4 star monster. Machines are good, and so is Light, but neither of those are really helping out Jade Knight. With 1000 ATK, he’s too heavy for Machine Duplication, so that’s out. The effect to protect weak machines from trap destruction is nice, I suppose … but that only really safeguards against Torrential Tribute (let’s face it – u don’t have to sweat Mirror Force or Sakuretsu Armor cuz u probably wont be attacking much with machines this weak)

His 2nd effect isn’t bad, but Jade's stats kinda hamper its usefulness. He’s too weak to want to play in ATK mode. So u place him in DEF. But with 1800 DEF, the majority of level 4 or lower monsters will have trouble getting ove r that with 1 shot. Your opponent will likely resort to using a spell to get around it or a monster’s special effect, meaning that u then won’t get Jade Knight’s effect. See? Had his DEF been lower, it would have been easier to get the 2nd effect.

And if ARE able to get his effect … my first thought are the X,Y,Z machines as good targets … assuming u are PLAYING that deck …

Nah, Jade Knight is lame. If I’m losing a monster in battle to snatch something Light, I’d want that monster I lost to be Shining Angel so I can get the searched Light monster to the field, not my hand. Its ‘protective’ powers aren’t much, and its stats are at the same time both too BIG and too SMALL to make it useful.

Types:Machine Effect (Continuous/Trigger  )

Effect: Face-up Machine-Type monsters you control with 1200 or less ATK cannot be destroyed by the effects of Trap Cards. When this face-up card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can add 1 Level 4 LIGHT Machine-Type monster from your Deck to your hand

Level 4

ATK 1000/ DEF 1800

This will probably be played in a random machine deck at your local but it will not be played competitively

I do not think because they can not stop TeleDAD,Lightsworn,GladiatorBeast etc...
