Dark Paladin
Thursday

Black Salvo, another interesting little Tuner, who looks like something that jumped out of a Super Mario video game...the Bomber character perhaps? All right, here we have another subjective Tuner, who is really only good for one Deck, but allow me to explain.

We have a Dark attributed, Level 3 Machine-type Tuner, with 100 attack and 1100 defesne. When Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon one Level 4 Dark Machine-type monster from your Graveyard in face-up defense position. It's effect(s) is(are) negated.

So, Black Salvo, can only specifically Special Summon one type of monster...one attribute of monster of the aforementioned type, and it can only be of Level 4...it you can use it to immediately Synchro Summon, go for it. It's still the best card so far this week...

General Zorpa Black Salvo

Well, here we have one of the dud cards from CRMS. This was the lynchpin in a rather lucrative OTK, but it fell flat due to lack of interest. To start things off, we have a level 3 DARK Machine with 100 ATK and 1100 DEF. These are not good stats at all, so he is basically a combo card if I ever saw one as it is a Tuner as well.

His effect is that when he is Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon a level 4 DARK Machine from your graveyard with it's effects negated. This is very similar to Debris Dragon and Junk Synchron, but much more specific than either of them.

Well, the OTK went like this. Play Advanced Ritual Art to Summon Demise, King of Armageddon and send 2 copies of Mechanicalchaser to the graveyard. You then blow up the field and summon Black Salvo, Synchroing with Mechanicalchaser for Dark Strike Fighter. You then attack with both monsters and then tribute both of them to DSF's effect and you get an instant win.

You can also use it in the Reactor deck, as you can easily get fallen Trap Reactors back to the field to get SKY FIRE out or to Synchro for DSF or Black Rose Dragon, which is amazing in it's own right. there are a ton of things to do with this guy, and nobody seems interested, I am a sad Panda!

Black Salvo …

Ok, this one is a fairly quick & easy one – basically we’ve seen a lot of these lately – Monsters that upon their summoning – special summon another monster of a specific type and level … usually their effects are negated as well. Being that Black Salvo is a Tuner (and even if it wasn’t, it wouldn’t be rocket science to figure out) – the best use of this ability is to quick-up a Synchro Summon. Black Salvo is a 3-star, and his power only lets him fetch a 4-star, so you’ll probably grab Black Rose Dragon … which is fine, cuz it’s a good card. Clear the field, and then … do whatever u like!

Oh, Black Salvo is also a Dark Machine, which are both good things, and can only fetch Dark Machines, so we can just pretend that u’ll have a fair supply of that monster type in your deck if you are attempting to make Black Salvo work. Assuming u ARE, then Black Salvo will suit u quite well. Yeah, his ATK and DEF (especially his ATK) are garbage, but u need to Normal summon him to get his effect, so defense position is a non-issue, and since the end goal is Synchro Summon-ization, his whack attack won’t matter anyway.

Black Salvo, another of Griegers monsters. But unlike the Reactor monsters in his deck, Black Salvo is a pretty bad ass card. When its summoned you can special summon a level 4 dark attributed machine-type monster from your graveyard, and its effects are negated. But being a tuner monster you can synchro summon Griegers Dark Strike Fighter, one of the best Synchros running around right now.

Thanks to this bad boy, the new Demise OTK decks are running strong again almost as they used to be, and I am hoping that we see Demise at the top tables when Shonen Jumps(or similar events) are back up.
