Sky Scourge Enrise

I know the other one's supposed to be our new Chaos Emperor Dragon, but this is nowhere near our new BLS-Envoy.

They finally understood what needed to be done with the Chaos monsters to make them balanced -- require more than two removals. Four is a bit hefty, but is worth it in Norleras's case, since he's blowing up the field and giving you the first draw. Four in THIS case...you get 2400 ATK with Chaos Sorcerer's effect. Honestly, I think they were afraid of creating a new cookie-cutter, as you're only getting 100 ATK more than Sorcerer for double the cost, and SPECIFIC typed removals at that.

Honestly, for four removals, he should either be able to remove face-downs or still get to attack after removing a face-up, AND get the doubleshot effect of BLS. Otherwise I see no reason he should cost four cards.

2/5 for being far weaker than his brother.

I recently did an article about this card, and it's counterpart, to view the article, click on the link below:

My thoughts are pretty much the same. It's a stronger, yet more difficult to summon Chaos Sorcerer. It needs its own deck to function properly, you can't just throw in the required removal monsters and hope for the best.

Ratings:

Traditional: No need at all 1/5
Advanced: It's own deck or nothing

Art: 4/5

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Hmmm. I sense a desire to reprint certain banned cards.

This is a vague approximation to BLS. It's smaller, can't attack twice, is stupidly harder to summon, and has a less interesting picture. However, if you can find a balanced build of Fairys and Fiends and make good use of RFtDD, there is fun to be had here. The question is how good is the Fairy monster base?

Sorry to disappoint, still not dead. I was just AFK while working all weekend.

So jumping back to reviews lands me with a mini-BLS. Actually more like mini-Chaos Sorcerer. Now the new ‘chaos’ monsters have received a lot of hype, but I personally don’t feel that they will be extremely broken.

Enrise ties with the monarchs in ATK, relieving one of CS’ weaknesses, but losses defense. In addition to that Enrise is a full nomi, no resurrecting or using Return from the Different Dimension. This extremely limits the effectiveness of this card. Essentially you’ll be devoting a decent amount of your deck to get out a CS that you will lose, and once it’s gone it won’t be coming back easily.

Like I said, really watered down.

Now on the field it can cause the same amount of damage that CS could, more so since you can kamikaze a Monarch, but that would be not a bright idea since you could just remove it instead. The issue is that this requires you to have 3 fairies to bring out. Now increasing the soul-sacrifice from 2 to 3 is one thing, but also limiting it to a specific type, really eliminates any splashibility for this card.

Now if you can create a dedicated deck that can be stable while supporting the heavier cost of Enrise, you should be able to run it. I will not go into the deck construction, people have been at that already and will continue to. We just have to wait to see if it can gain a footing in the current meta, as it’s own independent archetype.

Traditional: 1/5 you have the ACTUAL Envoys, use them
Advanced: 3.5/5
