Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Thousand Eye Restrict
Ultra Rare

"Relinquished" + "Thousand- Eye Idol"  As long as this card remiains face-up on the field, other monsters cannot change their Battle Positions or attack. Select 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field and equip it to this card (This effect can only be used once per turn and you can only equip 1 monster at a time to this card). The ATK and DEF of this card become the same amounts as the monster equipped to this card. If this card is destroyed as a result of the battle, the Equipped monster is destroyes instead.

Type - Spellcaster/Fusion/Effect
Card Number - DB1-EN195

Card Ratings

3 ... average. 5 is the highest rating.

Thousand-Eyes Restrict

Oh, how I miss you so, TER...

This card used to be the defining monster of our metagame 6 months ago.  Now, it's just a throw-in in a trade, a crappy super people are trying to get rid of, etc.

Thousand-Eyes Restrict just can't function consistently in today's metagame.  Metamorphosis is restricted to 1, Scapegoat is restrited to 1, and most unthinkable, Thousand-Eyes Restrict is restricted to 1 itself.  Who ever heard of limiting a Fusion?  If he was limited and Metamorphosis wasn't, he'd still actually see play.  There are many great Fusions that can be Morphed out other than TER, but given only one Morph, the "Morph deck" can't exist.

Besides, with all the 1:1s we're seeing (I can think of at least 9 1:1s and 3 power cards that can screw over TER either upon summon, attack, or on the opponent's turn), it wouldn't last that long.

The ban list will tell us whether this card will see play in the future.

Dark Paladin
Today we look at a card from a deck that got severely hurt by the latest Ban/Restricted list update. Restricting Morph nerely crippled the playability of Thousand-Eye Restrict. Is he any good still?
Arguably.

[Spellcaster/Fusion/Effect]
"Relinquished" + "Thousand-Eyes Idol"

As long as this card remains face-up on the field, other monsters cannot change their positions or attack. This monster can take on the ATK and DEF of 1 opponent's monster on the field (a face-down monster results in an ATK and DEF of 0). Treat the selected monster as an Equip Magic Card and use it to equip "Thousand-Eyes Restrict". You may use this effect only once per turn and can equip "Thousand-Eyes Restrict"
with only 1 monster at a time.

First, anyone who can successfully Fusion summon this without Morph, and keeps it on the field more than a turn, should win just for that.
Secondly, yes, Thousand Eye Restrict IS still good. Just because you only have one morph, doesn't mean he's dead. He's just got a foot or two in the grave. If you can get him out and keep him out for even just a few turns, you've more than likely got the game in the bag.

The fact Magician of Faith was also Restricted gave everyone else who ran the deck two less monsters to morph, but oh well.

Ratings:

5/5 for whatever can be salvaged of its own Morph deck

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Thousand Eyes-Restrict

The single most powerful fusion monster in the game (excluding Fusionist).

Rj Thousand Eyes Restrict

Our FINAL card of the day this week is Thousand Eyes Restrict.

Thousand eyes restrict doesnt see alot of playing, and its not because its not good. Its because when UDE/Konami/Whoever "Fixed" the game of Yugioh, they took away Morph, and left us with just one. For some reason ;/.

Tons of complext rule problems with this card, Ill answer some of the most common.

If I "Suck up" a Sangan with TER, and then TER goes to the grave, does Sangan? Yes.

It says once per turn I can use its effect, on turn 1 I use his effect, I suck up a DDA, on turn two, can I put DDA into the graveyard and Suck up a new monster for that turn? No.

Basically, great card, yada yada yada, dont really need to worry about it this format ;[.

Oh, and I am going to be at the Mobile, Alabama regional tomorrow. This is my first event in over 6 months, and I will be there with a grey Pojo.com t shirt on, you can only get these shirts as a writer, so I won't be hard to find. Don't hesitate to come up to me and start up a conversation ;p.

Thousand Eyes Restrict:

TER has always been good, after all , it does have the most powerful effect EVER !!!At least, in y opinion.

This was the god of last format, with goat control popping up all over the place but now this, along with Metamorphosis and my beloved goats are restricted to one, and its more likely than not that you aren’t going to fusion summon this guys, shame really.

Traditional : 1/5 The restrictions hurt this deck even in this format

Advanced : 2/5 Slightly more playability, but still not so good.

Art : 4/5 - Awesome

Ryoga
Thousand-Eyes Restrict:
Its a fusion, why not use it?
Traditional: 5/5

Well, since we can't use Morph effectively, this guy becomes harder to use. The fusion parts are crud, so I doubt you'll be seeing a deck centred around this guy until morph comes back, or we get an alternative. As such, if you can find a way to return to the hayday of the Tsuki-Restrict lock, you'll be winning yourself lots of prizes, but I doubt its gonna happen.
Advanced: 2/5 (rated for use in deck building. It's still a fusion, so until SOI comes out there's no
harm)

And what do you think of this as a Morph subsitute?
Gene Splicing
Normal Spell
Special Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck to your side of the field. That monster may not be Tributed in a Tribute Summon or by an effect you control and cannot attack during this turn. If the monster is removed from the field, return it to your Fusion Deck and discard 2 cards from your hand.

Share and enjoy,
Ryoga
