Merry Christmas to Pojo and Yugioh fans one and all,
and we have a real treat for you today, as we review
another highly anticipated card, Master of Dragon
Knight!
Anime fact: This monster was seen in Legendary
Heroes Part III and A Duel with Dartz Part I
Let's start by saying that the death, I mean banning
of Cyber Stein severely hurts this card, as well as
Fusions in general. So, let's see...Master of Dragon
Knight is a Fusion of Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon (a
Fusion) and Black Luster Soldier (the Ritual). It is
a Light monster and has a tremendous 5000 attack and
defense points.
It also gains 500 attack points for every other
Dragon on the field, including itself I believe.
There is the possibility of DNA Surgery to make ALL
monsters Dragons, but do you need to pump up a
monster with 5000 attack points? He doesn't even do
anything exciting. He justs looks really cool and
has an enormous attack.
For summoning, you are looking at Polymerization,
Fusion Gate, or Future Fusion, but wow...just wow.
Good luck if you feel ambitious enough to try this
deck. I'll do an article about this deck later on
this week.
Ratings:
Traditional: 2/5 You can still use Cyber Stein, but
so many more ways to be countered.
Advanced: 1.25/5 It can destroy Five Headed Dragon,
and maybe the score will go up later...for now, not
so much.
Art: 5/5
You stay classy, Planet Earth :)
Tebezu
Master of Dragon Knight
He is a fusion with huge stats and a killer picture,
not to mention the fact we have been waiting years
to get a hold of one.
5/5
As far as playability, only in a fun deck. Unlike
5HD, his fusion requires an 8 star ritual and a
fusion of 3 BEWD. Either way that you look at it,
this one will cost you. I think using King of the
Swamp to replace the BLS is the best way to go. He
is a dragon, thus Dragons Mirror will work with his
summoning. But all in all a lot of work to go
through for a pointless effect. Future Fusion for
the BEUD is a good start, but once again this will
be a once in a while thing. 5HD is better in my
opinion.
I still want to summon him, thus if anyone sends a
me copy of a deck utilizing it I will be very happy
this Christmas.
Otaku
Dragon Master Knight
is one of the huge Fusion Monster cards from the
animé/manga. Simply put, it is mostly a novelty
as playing it is incredibly hard: it is a Fusion
of a Level 8 Ritual and another Fusion Monster
composed of three copies of the same card. If
you did things “classically”, then that’d be at
least three Spells and five Monster cards to
bring this out (six counting Blue-Eyes
Ultimate Dragon itself, though one might not
since it won’t need to be drawn into or searched
out). Now, you do get a Light/Dragon with the
highest printed ATK/DEF scores in the game
(5000/5000) and an ATK boosting effect.
Unfortunately, this means next to nothing. It
is still vulnerable to Monster removal. The
conditions of the boost are such they are
unlikely to be met even in casual duels, and
even though this is a Dragon, using Dragon’s
Mirror is probably not going to do much good
since you want to use a Fusion substitute with
this card.
Of course, unless Memory Crusher is a
problem in your area, you could still risk
running it. After all, padding one’s Fusion
deck can confuse an opponent. So, as a Fusion
it would be a 5/5 for all formats, but its
actual usefulness is near non-existent, so it
should really get a 1/5.
