ExMinion OfDarkness
Exchange of the Spirit

Ahhh, another banned card.

This one never got to do its thing completely in the United States.

In Japan, here's how it would go...

Activate some Spell card that lets you activate Traps on the turn you set them (so you're essentially playing them from the hand)

Play Sixth Sense.
Play up to 3x Jar of Greed.
Play up to 3x Corpse of Yata-Garasu (essentially the same thing.)
Play Painful Choice.
Play Pot of Greed.

We up to 15 cards in the Graveyard yet? Exchange of the Spirits. You have no deck. gg.

But without Sixth Sense, the Corpse of Yata-Garasu, and the spell card to make it all happen on turn one, it just never got its chance to wreck the meta.

Traditional: 1/5 because we STILL don't have half the cards and Scientist is a better OTK

Advanced: Banned/5

Dark Paladin
Today we look at Exchange of the Spirits, a card many people aren't so angry about being Banned, just very very confused about.

Exchange of the Spirits, while not the most successful decktype here in the US to run is quite easy and can be extremely deadly (and was) in Japan As you are aware by now, we seem to be in Global Ban List mode, so if something was too much of a problem over yonder, we lost it too.

At least you can still play it in Traditional, where it could be semi-successful, despite our lack of cards.

Ratings:

Traditional: 4.25/5 You might be able to get it to work, and you've got enough cards to try.

Advanced: Banned/5

Art: 5/5 Cool art we have this week

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Last Turn, Cyber Jar, Exchange of the Spirits review

It’s dead!!! It’s dead!!! The otk is dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111!!!1one!!!!!111shift+one

(By the way my Luster Dragon review was sent in late, you don’t want to miss it)

Ryoga
Exchange of Spirit:
Another ban unneccesary outside of Japan.

Like Makyura, this card never really got a chance to stretch its legs outside of Japan. Now yes, Reasoning can mill your deck ridiculously easily, but the odds of drawing one of three cards in a deck of fourty are just too small to be important. This card was banned just to ensure OTKs never live again (until the designers slip up again).

Traditional: 2/5
Casual: 1/5 (the games are too quick to be fun) Old Advanced: 2/5

Share and enjoy,
Ryoga

Exchange of the Spirit

This card really falls under the same category as last turn.

This card had the potential for a one turn kill, and was REALLY deadly in 3’s, but now, not so much….

Advanced : Banned/5

Exchange of the Spirits

What can be said about this card, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!

It is banned. Honestly of all the FTK this one was the hardest to pull off simply b/c Exchange was limited before its release.

It is on the ban list simply b/c it is a FTK

I agree with the decision to place all FTK on the ban list. I even think Cyber Stein should be restricted/banned.

As for an FTK, when we where allowed to use it, the deck was very unsatable and never won on the first move.

Some people ran humped lacooda and rescue cats to get 3 draws and such; yet the deck just seemed to flop after 3 games.

Even if they did not ban it, no body would play it. Jinzo, Royal Decree, and Kycoo pretty much ended it before it could work.

1/5 (even in its own deck it sucked. As cool tech it actually worked better)
