wartortle32 Magic Reflector

Select 1 Magic Card that remains face-up on the field and put 1 counter on it. If the selected card is destroyed, the counter is removed instead of the card being destroyed.

This card basically provides a layer of protection for one of your continuous magic cards so that the opponent has to destroy it twice in order to destroy it. Most notably, this will help stall and toon decks. A stall deck usually runs a few messenger of peaces and this will help them keep out their messengers. And a toon deck's greatest weakness is the protection of toon world. With this, your toons will be much safer from destruction through toon world. But other than these decks and a few other continuous magic cards, this card wont see much play as there aren't that many continuous magic cards that are so important that they require a second layer of protection.

I'd give this card a 2/5. Unless you're using one of the two decks I mentioned, I wouldn't go near this card.

Alright, this isn't a very widely useful card so I'm going to keep it short and sweet.

There aren't many, if any, decks that really need this card. The obvious target for this card would be Messenger of Peace in an Exodia or Direct Damage deck.

But is it really necessary? Unless you're running plenty of ways to draw cards, I wouldn't bother with very many copies of this card, if any at all. The reason for this is that it doesn't give you any true advantage at the time you play it, all it really does is potentially "counter" a Mystical Space Typhoon, Heavy Storm, or Harpie's Feather Duster.

Maybe we'll have better options for this card in the future...

Hehe, this card sounds like fun. Play MoP and this card, and its fun time! Now, with this card, maybe Clown decks can actually be viable ;P. I mean, with so much m/t removal running around, clown/stall decks just get pwned, but this card will make that MoP or SORL last much longer. HFD, Heavy Storm, MST, all fail to destroy the MoP/SORL and only remove that magic counter. Muahaha.

Rating: 3.8/5. This card is fun and good, imo. Keep that MoP out so that your stupid clowns can keep dancing away your opponent's monsters. I may have to playtest...but Clown decks still suck :P

Heh - take that at face value… SORL is destroyed after 3 turns right, well this card should make it stay on the field, right?

I wish

This is like… some kind of… super… magic… shieldy thingy… it protects your Magic Card for one hit, assuming it doesn't take another…

What I want to know is if this works against cards that don't target this specifically… like… If I've got an equip card on the field and I use this, and my opponent plays Harpy's Feather Duster, is this destroyed? This is my ignorance showing, methinks, as this is probably going to be answered in another review.

Not bad, not great. It can definitely help in some situations… but I cant think of very many magic cards that its Life or Death that it stay on the field.

3/5 - it definitely has its uses.

Hmm can we say swords for an extra turn? Its a nice decent rare card. It basically keeps a swords of revealing light for another turn. Or any other magic card out for 1 more extra turn before being destroyed. Not to bad. It might be nice for a exodia deck. But in beatdown decks or hand destruction decks its not gonna see play anywhere. Too bad this card didn't effect traps too ><
